investigative reporter candice nguyen is here now. you have found that some people may be exploiting the loophole. >> reporter: that's right. although it is on a big subset of culprits, it is an impactful one involving systemic abuse and in this case accusations of ex stompleghts we looked into several reports we received. the city's office confirms they have handed their case to the city attorney's office. they know this man as a serial renter linked to more than a dozen properties around san francisco. they say after signing lease he lists the properties on home sharing sites like airbnb and home away which is a violation of law. we're told he raked in tens of thousands of dollars while in the suspecting homeowners received fines from the city. >> he said he would not move out in 30 days unless there was a settlement agreement in place. >> he would not stop unless he was given free rent. he's basically trying to hold us hostage, in a way. >> reporter: when we tracked him down he denied those allegations and said he had permission. t

i'm kira klapper in for vickie nguyen. you say it will be even cooler than yesterday. >> a few degrees cooler than yesterday so i think we're on the right track. look right now, the peninsula 61 degrees. the south bay 61. if you notice we're still waking up to some fairly warmer/cool temps in some areas. it will feel sticky out there, humid. the east bay at 60 degrees. san francisco 55. the north bay 56. and it's all thanks to this nice deepening marine layer and we've been seeing this for the past few nights and we'll continue to see it which is actually a lot more seasonable for this time of year for the bay area. as that deepen iing marine laye keeps in, that will keep areas nice and cool for the next several days and we can expect to see the temperature trend climbing into the 60s yet again and very similar to yesterday where we started off very cloudy but in san francisco we did end up seeing some broken sunshine and then it cleared out quite nicely just in time for all of the pride events. you had a blast yesterday.
