my playbook right now is, look, i don't think you have to do anything just today you can certainly nibbleat dan is saying is right. this is a process that can unfold over a longer time period i think in this particular case, it's going to be a pretty short time period. there is a few reasons why i say that one, i think the earnings are likely to come in strong here. right? the economic data that we had since q-2 is really strong here. and so i don't see any reason why to think that this season from a top down level is going to be, you know, particularly bad here i also point out if you look at valuations whether you look at the f-a-a-n-g index or the russell or spx or dow, it's actually right now lower than it was during the worst part of the spring during that volatility. and i think that's -- so the whole argument that the markets are priced to perfection, i don't think they were a week ago or three weeks ago but there is certainly a lot more attractive right now. and another -- i think so, you know, here we are if we do rally into -- let's say we get another -- we're up two or three po

momentum names >> i think last week it was -- names were too expensive right now i'm starting to nibblezon, it was down over 100 points in one day. i said this gets interesting estimates in the last 12 months the companies have repurchased $646 billion of their own stock. almost 30% more than the year before and there's plenty of dry powder left. one firm told me there is at least $350 billion in unused buy backsjust waiting to be put to work more than 300 large cap companies have active buy book programs with some of the large fres apple, visa app materials and more companies can buy back stock in the period just before earnings are released providing they have set up a plan to buy back stock on a regular basis there are certain restrictions you cannot buy in the last ten minutes of trading so with prices down corporations can buy back more stock and may get more aggressive as prices have dropped here is the big question, when will companies stop buying back stock? companies are generating enormous amounts of free cash flow i'm betting they will into buy backs. >> thank you very much i

you say its time to nibble if not jump in and buy the dip. >> our assessment -- thanks for having me. the assessment of the overall domestic and global economies is different. so we look at the environment and we see a pretty strong economy domestically. we look at manufacturing, nonmanufacturing, ism, various data and we're still near cyclical highs. i'll give you an interesting statistic. its a little bit complicated but bear with me. when we see a one standard deviation the research shows that when he we see that increase the volatility and we don't go into a recession within the next year, okay, we're not forecasting a recession. there's a 92% chance that the equity market will be up at least 20% from the bottom of that volatility spike. and so, given that there's no recession, given we're at 15 forward multiple levels now, given the draw down in equity levels, given that we think that the rate environment continues to accommodate us, we're not concerned about growth right now. growth is still pretty good at 3 plus percent, the risk factor is around tariffs and trade. if you take
