here to discuss is republican strategist john thomas and jason nichols. thanks for joining us.iate it. let's actually bring up that quote right away as we begin where they are pointing the fingers of donald trump. this is from hakeem jeffries, the chair of the house democratic caucus who says we are committed to disarming -- condemning white supremacy, homophobia, anti-semitism and the rise of hate that has taken place in this country over the last two years since january 2017. what is your response to that? >> mister jeffries's what aboutism, it is not what it is about, they attacked trump for allegedly race baiting but when they haven't going on in their own house they do nothing. there is still a sitting governor of virginia caught wearing black face, the attorney general of virginia and a member of congress, the democratic party, who has repeatedly been anti-semitic and they do nothing. the hypocrisy here is stunning and disappointing. heather: what about that? the democratic party can't even come together to present this resolution rebuking anti-semitism. what is going on?

everyone is back with me along with hans nichols at the white house.for that event. how is he interpreting what is in that first memo? we talked about all three. the first one, the four-page summary of the investigation and how is he using this on the campaign trail? >> in regards to whether or not barr will release most of the underlying mueller report. we have seen two views from the president in the last 14-16 hours. initially, he was for the full release, keeping with his line that he trusts william barr and it's up to william barr. he seemed to backtrack and suggest, look, democrats are going to attack him, no matter what. this is the president on twitter. maybe we should not release it at all. here is the issue, barr committed publicly to releasing it. he's given somewhat of a date of when to do it. he said the white house isn't going to get a pre-advanced viewing of the report, the part that is redaucted. for the president, going forward, a real challenge and question. will he try to stop the attorney general from releasing it or use it as a rhe

let's go to hans nichols. this afternoon the president met with prime minister benjamin netanyahu, then he took a moment to talk about the findings from william barr's summary, what's your take away? >> he may not be done talking today, he just summoned the pool here, we hear hear from the president here shortly. he is meeting with the local hockey team. here is the big take away. he spent months trying to direct and hint and telegraph what direction he want this is to go. now that the mueller report is out he is taking a hands off approach. the president is saying it is up to the attorney general. he was asked today whether or not he felt he behalfed honorably and he said yes, and when you listen to the president closely, and he talks about what is important to him, he is terroristing from defending himself to the office of the presidency and they may exert executive privilege. >> i love this country as much as i can love anything. my family, my country, my god. but what they did, it was a false narrative, it

and hans nichols in houston with kama lla harris. the mueller investigation. kind of an open question how democrats are going to use it for 2020, considering all of the other issues at top of the mind for voters. what are you hearing there, both from the candidates and from the voters? is the mueller report something that is being talked about among people attending these political rallies? >> katy, so this is the fourth event that we are at with book er today. people are just starting to stream in. it's going to start any moment. and so far, booker has not voluntary talked about the mueller report, although we do ask him about it at a barbershop earlier today where he said the mueller report should be relieved and he also called for mueller to come before the committee to testify about the report and the investigation. and he also said this is an important moment in american democracy. and we have a clip of that and what he said. >> reporter: do you think the report should be subpoenaed if it is not released? >> i'm going to say ver

president trump was asked yesterday by our hans nichols if he would in fact cooperate. he said, look, i always cooperate, at the same time this is a witch hunt. based on my conversations, what's going to happen now is the requests will be reviewed by the white house counsel. and by the way, there are of course requests for folks outside the white house, so their attorneys are reviewing those requests as well. the question becomes what may be protected by executive privilege, will they claim that. i anticipate, and i wouldn't be surprised, if some of the documents, a number of the documents are in fact, the white house will argue, protected by that. and you might see the outside allies of the president making the same case depending on what specific documents are requested. so there's the messaging and then the legal strategy. they're huddled here behind the scenes trying to determine what the next steps will look like now that they have the specific requests, andrea. >> and the other committees, the other chairs who have gone after the president with a broad request whi
