deputy chief jeannie nicholson. deputy chief of administration, jeannie nicholson. this is my report for february 2018. by the way, happy spring. spring has sprung out there. pretty nice day. let's start with the illustrious division of training. as the chief stated, the 124th class is currently in, but going back a couple of classes the 121st class is undergoing the one year of testing so that they can pass the threshold into permanent h2s. that is happening this week. the 122nd class is understood going the six-month testing and moving to the second houses as well. and the assistant deputy chief of training joe sotto is up and running and we had to replace him as well because he was the recruit captain. captain teresa kwan was on rescue two and engine 11 and we welcome her into the fold and really look forward to her contributions with the recruit academy. and as an aside, just so you know, she is no joke. she and her husband live in santa rosa and their house caught on fire during the whole firestorms, and they put it out. so they were out there with a chain saw

nicholson, this would be for you. to hear [inaudible] i can't wait for you all to build a 700-horsepower tahoe and i can get 75 miles a gallon. that said were talking something that is broader than the us possibly here and when we talk about worldwide environmental impact you said that there is already a 95 ron standard in europe and if you have one single nationwide standard in the united states for 95 ron what other countries would likely follow on which to make us car in us refining and us ethanol put us on the same consumer on the same page? >> as you pointed out, europe is proven the 95 ron is a great solution and delivers efficiency and i think as i said earlier americans deserve at least as good a fuel as the europeans have and i think by historical standards let's say there's a high likelihood that canadian and mexican would let's say, follow. >> we could set a new admissions profile for the entire north american continent. >> i think one national standard would provide leadership and show leadership that woul

chief nicholson come on up. >> greetings, here is my report. let's begin with the administrative division. the office conducted 60 permanent physicals in multiple lengths and 41 return to work evaluations investigative services bureau, 72 drug and alcohol tests all negative. the assignment office, the 121st class has completed probation and were assigned. moving on to support services, all of our wash extractors to decontaminate ppe have been put in place in our stations and we will also have them in rebuilds of stations 5 and 16 and station 35 when that comes around. there were 136 facility requests in march. the bureau of equipment handled 35 field and equipment repairs as well as hundreds of other requestions for equipment and service needs and responded to several working fire. i don't know if you have heard about the moose boat. it's coming in september. capable of fire fighting and has a dallas platform, chemical and radio logical detection on it and we are developing training schedules for personnel and i will get you all a nice photo of

nicholson? >> i would say perhaps, a national standard for a premium kind of fuel might be a facilitator for a market demand for such a thing. should be from my point of view performance base standard. but the 95 run could be the regular fuel and a standard for a higher one. that's a good idea. we need some cooperation from the e.pa. our vehicles are certified to the 9.0 psi rvp certification fuel. it needs to be ensured this requirement is met regardless of fuel composition. the proper evaporative, we have to work out the details, but i think it could be done. >> i'd point to the points i made in my opening statement. >> very good. mr. thompson. >> quickly, i can't help myself. access, refiners, we own less than 4% of the retail stations. we don't control access. mr. columbus can attest to that. the notion that big bad oil is presenting access is simply not true. if i understand your question about how do we get there, we will be committed to a 95 ron standard. >> i think it was -- 95 is the fl

nicholson? >> we need one national standard for the fuel, that is important to us. and we'd like to be part of making sure the specifications are correct and it's sbe related with emissions criteria. one national standard is what we're seeking. >> mr. jesse? >> the supplier relevant material for the ethanol corn farmers ready to do their part. we've got piles all over the country right now on the grown. that's how much of the surplus commodity we have. again, raw material that we're providing can easily be geared up or growing naturally yields 1% a year. so, i think we can do our part. >> mr. tomlinson? >> we need the rfs to sunset. we cannot go both the high octane fuel and the rfs. >> great. thanks. for growth and the corn growers, would you support any level of stringency that gives you at least as much ethanol that you currently use today? >> so, i think if the conversations simply high octane standards, that's a wonderful thing that we should 'moving toward as a country. if the conversation
