nick williams. good afternoon. supervisors, staff and members of the general public. my name is nicholas williams. i'm the superintendent of recreation and community services for san francisco rec and park. today we want to talk about that proposed fee increase for programing of $5, this fee will ensure that all of san francisco's, youth and adults are continuously able to pay, to participate in recreation activities, the benefit of this fee is that over the last few years, the need for san franciscans to have programing assistance has grown. our program started about seven years ago with about $70,000 in scholarships. it has grown. this year alone. we have, issued up about $1.6 million in scholarships. i think it's important to note that these are not the scholarships are distributed all across the city, to residents who need extra assistance to participate in recreational programs. and so as the slide shows, our households, the, the way that we that the scholarships are issued, are to san francisco residents who exhibit a specific need and the requirements are listed here on the slide. next slid
