nick schiffron is live in jerusalem, tensions undoubtedly high. what's going on right now? >> del, this morning, we see resilience and crackdown, resilience in the synagog so brutally attacked yesterday. some of the people in that community going back to the synagog, filling the very same space that was attacked yesterday and it was filled with so much blood after that attack this morning. we saw prayers, traditional morning prayers, even saw prayers celebrating life this morning. we saw an interfaith harmony service, christian, muslim. >>ish leaders coming to pray for peace. in east jerusalem, the part of city annexed, we see a crackdown by police and specifically the demolition of the home who israeli say drove his car into a group of israelis killing a baby and a south american. this is a policy that the israeli government believes prevents any kinds of attacks, demolishing family homes. on the other side are people within the israeli government as well as human rights group saying it does not work at all and it's a form of collective punishment. >> the israeli governmen

nick schiffron joins us live from phone from jerusalem. we're receiving reports of an israeli soldier stabbed in tel-aviv not long ago. >> this is another incident in a tense few weeks and months between the israelis and palestinians. according to the israeli military, one of its soldiers was stabbed in tel-aviv as he waited for a train at a train station. they had called this a terrorist attack and named the suspect as a palestinian from nables in the occupied west bank. that suspect stabbed the soldier. we don't know the soldiers condition right now. in the train station, he tried to run away and police cornered him quickly and managed to basically close him into a building right now. police say is confined to that building and they are trying to determine why he did what he did and trying to make sure that he is the only suspect emergent. >> these clashes are the latest in a series creating new tensions in the region, particularly the area known as the old city. what is the situation there now? >> israel police have really flooded the o

nick schiffron is live in jerusalem. it seems the tension is only increasing. >> absolutely, the tension is increasing, the violence increasing and both sides fear that there is no end in sight. this morning, as you said, israel is burying a woman that it says is the victim of a terror attack. 26-year-old dahlia lemkis was killed by a palestinian man who tried to drive over her at first, got out of his car and stabbed her as well as two other israelis. hundreds of thousands of people at this funeral this morning. her sister spoke at the funeral. she said that this is proof that jews should keep living their lives, keep hitchhiking, which is what she was doing at the time she was killed and keep living in the occupied west bank, saying this place belonging to us. of course that is increasing the tension not only here in jerusalem but in the occupied west bank where many many palestinians were protesting against israeli soldiers. >> what can you tell us about this palestinian man that was killed this morning? >> it was dur

nick schiffron is in jerusalem. good morning. there are two very different accounts of what happened to this man. what are you hearing? the family of the 32-year-old said that he was murdered by israeli jews. on the other side, israeli police telling me that they suspect no foul play, translation to that, they believe that he committed suicide. his body was found hanged inside his bus in a bus depot not very far from here. it was discovered by a fellow bus driver when he was supposed to start his route last night. right now, there is an autopsy being done by israel police with the palestinian coroner present and everyone is waiting the results of that autopsy not only to figure out how he died, but also because there is a lot of tension on the streets over his death. >> what has been the reaction on the ground to this? >> as you showed already, there have been protests, almost immediately after he was killed, palestinian media reported that he had been murdered and that sparked protests in east jerusalem between palestinian prote
