this just coming into nick valencia. frank is with the aurora police department, gary.e tells us that the fire department here, along with atf, will be returning to the residence of james holmes, right behind my right shoulder here, at around 7:00 a.m. local time. that's two hours from now, in colorado. it's not clear whether they're going to be allowed or plan to go into the apartment but they will come back here on scene. we will certainly be trying to talk to them. the reason with he don't know whether they will go in or not is because of how vexing, perplexing a situation this is. as i look at the apartment of james holmes, it is lit up with sort of an orange glo. there are many questions about what is in there, how intense these booby-traps are, whether there are indeed explosives as james holmes, the suspected shooter told police yesterday when he was arrested. take a listen to the police chief dan oates talking about the situation. >> it is a very vexing problem how to enter that apartment safely. i personally have never seen anything like what the pictures show

our nick valencia is here.ou've been learning about these people and have some of their stories. >> reporter: we've been tirelessly working the phones all morning and throughout the afternoon trying to get the latest information and confirm details. cnn has been able to independently confirm 7 of the 12 deceased but just last hour "the denver post" naming one more victim, rebecca wingo 32 years old originally from quinlan, texas is a mother and also a local waitress at a crab shack according to her facebook page. her father steve hernandez posting a message online confirming her death saying i lost my daughter yesterday to a mad man. my grief right now is inconsolable. i hear she died instantly without pain. however, the pain is unbearable. these are just some of the messages we're hearing, don, from numerous family members i've spoken to at the cnn national desk as well as our wire team has spoken to throughout the morning. another one of the victims we confirmed earlier this afternoon. a.j. boik a high school

cnn's nick valencia is here with more on this journey. how did it begin? how did they find him? so many questions. >> it is shocking would he survive something like this. 28-year-old autistic man, lost in the wilderness for three weeks. we know what happened to william la fever. about june 6, june 7, he called his father from boulder, utah. originally from can colorado springs. somehow without a vehicle he gets to boulder, utah. he called his father and said he was robbed of his camping ger and needs money to get to page, arizona to get to his sister. he dezads it take this 15-mile long river hike and he gets lost. by himself. he was with his dog. his dog, trustee companion, took off on him. and he was by himself when the department of highway patrol and highway patrol from utah found him. >> how did they find him? >> great question. one of the authorities along with a pilot were recently trained on how to deal with autistic people. they say autistic people are drawn to bodies of river. so they started along the river. the pilot was on earlier today and this is what he had to sa

nick valencia is following that for us in atlanta. nick, what is the latest? >> good morning, randi. we just got off the phone with the aurora police department, and we had expected to get that list, as you'd mentioned, within a matter of minutes here in the 10:00 eastern hour. unfortunately, the police now are saying they're pushing that back, and they do have a 2:00 p.m. local/4:00 p.m. eastern press conference scheduled as well as that other media briefing with the police department, where our poppi harlow is, the location where suspect james holmes lived, but that's the latest. for now, we have five victims, five names of the deceased that we've been able to confirm. a short time ago, i spoke to the father of one of the victims, john larimer, 27 years old. he was in the u.s. navy. he had been in the navy less than a year, posting his first -- his first posting near aurora, colorado. and the family released a statement, saying "we send our thoughts and prayers out to the families of other victims and those still recovering in the hospital. we love you, john
