nicole avril. i am quite pleased to present to you today one of our most wonderful properties and partnerships for the department, of which most of us do not know about. commissioner bosnia remembers when it was presented in 2004 initially. >> and it is right in my neighborhood. i cannot wait until that happens. >> it is the geneva car barn and power house located in district 11. the car barn and our house was designed by the reed brothers, best known for the fairmont hotel. it served as a depot for the san michaele united san francisco and market street railways and the san francisco municipal railway. it is the last fiscal reminder of the electric railway. in 1985, it was declared a city landmark. following the loma padilla earthquake, the building was left to deteriorate. in 1998, muni announced plans to demolish the structure and put a parking lot in its place. to halt the demolition plans, friends of the geneva car barn and our house was established, and formed a neighborhood citizens group. i
