nicole brewer joins us now on the scene at 53rd and market. le. >> police are right now investigating this as a homicide, certainly a suspicious death we're told that they were called out to this home here on 53rd street near market street in west philadelphia. by a woman, a 57 year-old woman who said her roommate, was dead inside that home and first floor bedroom. she also told police that there was some kind of a break in, robbery, a according to this woman that three men wearing a masks and hoods supposedly came into that home. right new there is no signs of forced entry but police are still working to confirm that story a and try to find some evidence that would confirm these details. right now that 57 year-old would mate is being treated as a key witness and being taken to hup with minor bruising. again the woman she lived with, a woman in her 60's was found dead inside her bedroom as she mentioned she was covered in bruises. so, a very questionable and very peculiar crime scene here on 53rd street. i'm actually joined by a neighbor who li

. >> "eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer just arrived on the scene on 39,000 block of 22nd street. nicole, what's the latest? >> well, this fire, erika, ukee, was reported shortly before 3:00. then placed under control, roughly, 15 minutes later, sadly, it just wasn't enough time to save everyone inside. we are hearing everyone fatality, a male found dead on the third floor of the 3-story apartment building, it is actually home to alliance abuse mission ministries, homeless shelter here on north 22nd street. we are told the fire broke out on the third floor, and at this point, fire department officials are investigating if the fire alarms were working inside that building. they're also receiving some mixed reports on that front. but again, the investigation is ongoing. now, it is possible we're told that this fire may be caused by the residents smoking, but again, all of this is unconfirmed at this point. we can tell you, 23 people were safely evacuated. they were taken to a shelter location, a boarding house actually, in the area called francis house. two people we're told were t

"eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer in atlantic city right now it tell you more. morning. >> yes, good morning, ukee, erika, in fact, those folks have already gone home. cold night for a cam out, pretty much a cardboard box and sleeping bag is all they had overnight. difficult night for them but brought perspective around the issue of homelessness, specifically teens homeless by the way 1 million teens in the u.s. are homeless. and, the covenant house, which is sponsoring this event, actually, helped 71,000 of them, 2,000 of which are here in new jersey. so, a tremendous cause, altogether, they raised $114,000 for those homeless kids, and things like shelter, like clothing, meals, but also, educational and job services, legal services, counselling services, so they really do provide some great service to the community and specifically at risk youth. we will be live talking to one of the organizers, of the national sleep-out event coming up here on the "cw philly". for now, we send it back to you in the studio. >> nicole, thanks so much. we will take short break. b

nicole brewer picked up story from police headquarters. e, good morning, what have you learned. >> reporter: good morning, that is right a car salesman's concern over a customer's bad credit helped police track down carlesha gaters alleged abductor. let's roll video. you will recognize surveillance video released last week yesterday. we are getting new information from philadelphia police commissioner charles ramsey who says quick release of this video inside an ago new supermarket on roosevelt boulevard not only shows the face but a very important tip from that salesman who told suspect a vehicle, it turns out the the suspect was considered a high risk loan. so salesman put i gps tracking device on that car being sold. when he saw him on surveillance video he was able to provide police with that all important tip. >> by put ago this video out we got a phone call from a person sold this individual a car and from that we were able to trace the car. we were able to then contact charles city, who they had an outstanding warrant for this indivi
