from there, cbs reporter nicole comstock sent this report. a wildfire can destroy a neighbourhood. we are on the corner and when we first got here about 35 minutes ago, this home was completed destroyed. now you can see across here, there is another home that has caught fire. black smoke is billowing from the top of it so we know that is a structure burning and those are homes right here. the wind is blowing in all directions. right now you see the embers going to the south of us but it is also blowing to the west and the east. we also have this complex that caught fire because embers from the home behind us were blowing in the wind across the street here and now there are at least two of these buildings here that are on fire. it is so heartbreaking, we are seeing firefighters in these neighbourhoods but they cannot relate to anything because the wind is basically laying these flames down on top of homes ago blow to and a host will not really do anything for that. they are trying to focus on other efforts on protecting the homes are little bi

. >> that was the voice of reporter, nicole comstock. has gotten an update on the reporting near the 10 fire pit >> yeah, the city of altadena is doing everything they can to help evacuate these senior centers in altadena. right now they are actually floating people of any pasadena s.w.a.t. vehicle. i heard they are taking some of them to the pasadena center, so it sounds like that is probably one of these mass evacuation shelters. to get all of these evacuees who have had to flee this fire. you can see all of the smoke and embers flying down the street. it has really intensified out here probably the past 20 or 30 minutes. we are about a little more than half a mile , actually look, there are planes in front of this apartment building across the street here. looks like an apartment building and washington boulevard about half a mile or a little bit more away from eaton canyon, just south of that area on altadena drive. and you can see it is spotting half a mile, three orders of a mile away and catching areas, this is residential over he
