nih makes its own decisions and we can actually just go over to the nih statement. the nih statement says, the nfl funding commitment to their study remains intact. nfl is willing to contribute to this particular study. nih made the decision to fund the study in its entirety. now, i just want to break both of those statements down a little bit. the nfl coming out and saying, espn reporting isn't true. i obviously was not privy to the espn source reporting, nor am i in the nfl offices so none of us can tell you which version is true. i can tell you that the reporters on this espn story are the two most respected reporters in this field. they wrote a landmark book on the subject, a front line documentary on the subject. they are very well sourced. you have to take what they say into account. the nih coming out and sayingtion we're still funding the study, they still have $30 million coming from the nfl. so they're not going to rock the boat one way or the other. regardless of whether the money was pulled or whether it was just never committed and some of that might be

nih was mentioned before.i am so proud of the tremendous investment we have made and we will make in the national institutes of health. in our communities we have people who depend on this. whether they suffer from cancer for alzheimer's or autism or heart disease, the research of the national institutes of health is critical, and we can be so proud of that effort. let me just say this, when you're working across the aisle you don't always get everything you want. and if we were in the majority we would have gotten even more than we wanted. as a strong bipartisan effort, and i was particularly pleased that we were able to get rid of a hundred and 50 poison pills that were anti- environment. so let me just say in conclusion, september 11, carol maloney had done an amazing job and, of course, over here and joe crowley it was really a team effort,, especially for those of us who are new yorkers. i will never forget september 11. as we talked to firefighters who were fortunate enough to survive and all the public

personally with an individual who is a postdoc doing cutting edge neuroscience research funded by the nih. he was going to file based on the priority date and he did not renew his visa and then the visa bulletin was amended and he is nowhere. it is crazy that someone who has been here for years who may get a nobel prize is just nowhere. so i don't know how many people like him but i'm wondering what the agency has thought about just who merely the harm done in that bulletin. i am concerned that the program really set up to avoid the rush of refugees across the border who have come through mexico fleeing violence. the alternative to process refugee applications has not really worked and i don't think that any child has been admitted yet. and i am concerned with whatever light you can put him i would appreciate knowing. i would also like an update on the technology efforts that the agency has been making. when the president was elected, we were almost entirely.
