nik wallenda, a night i know many of us won't ever forget. wire cable, suspended 100 feet above the beach in atlantic city yesterday. and as you can see here, unharnessed and without a net. one fall would be his last. especially tricky because of the sand caked on the wire. nik, friend of the program, good enough to join us on the phone. nik, you could have done it anywhere. why did you pick atlanta city? >> we're promoting a new show "nik wallenda beyond the falls." and it opens in atlantic city at the tropicana. >> i know all of the weather conditions to get across that rope. you're at a seaside resort. what did that do to the rope itself? >> it was really actually uncomfortable. the fact that as i took my first step on that wire, there was a lot of sand on that cable. and it was actually pretty slippery. more slippery than it was wet. the wire shoes my mom makes are made to grip when it's wet. but we have nothing to do with the sand. but in the beginning, i took my shoes off. i considered going barefoot. thought it would be fitting going o
