this is niles canyon road, fremont police are blocking it off. it is a long stretch of road that connects 680 to mission boulevard here in fremont so this is a very important road and i just got an update from the fremont police department, they said caltrans had come by and told them that this road will be closed until at least 8:00 this morning. one resident told me one of the mudslides is a quarter of a mile long and people are having to go towards castro valley to get out. niles canyon road is a muddy mess. we took this video about 20 minutes ago. didn't make it very far from mission boulevard before we ran into debris, brush, and thick mud. a car was parked on the side of the road with a bunch of debris underneath the vehicle. two people were actually trapped in that car and the fremont police department had to go in and take them out. water was above their wheels. alameda creek runs right next to it but that water was actually coming from the mountainside. several slides took place in this area, one on nearby kilcare road. in fact, the alam
