there is an interesting dynamic playing out, so many prominent black left-wing candidates like nina turner, india walton, even jamaal bowman at times who has gotten pushback from the democratic party, have gone against them, almost thrown more weight at trying to throw the flyer blanket over black leftist candidates and what is happening on the right and what we've seen in 2022 is there were 80 one black republicans running for office this year and many had levels of support from the republican party and folks i talked to in the book had been organizing for years and continue to organize black republicans, so i think to go back to your original question the democratic party must make more room for leftist politics. i think it is important for the federal government and i will say this, president biden has made in the last month, inflation reduction act has been released wrong. i think some stuff around student debt, i would say could go further but it has been very relieving for black communities, tangible economic gains are direct response to progressive philosophies in the party pushing
