joining me now, nina turner, co-chair of bernie sanders' 2020 campaign. scott jennings, former special assistant to george w. bush. and political analyst, john avlon. good to have all of you here tonight, especially on this friday after the week we're seeing, the culmination of so many different instances about ways to attack the so-called wokism. we begin with you nina, because missouri wants to ban critical race theories in schools, even though -- this is an important part -- they want to ban it in schools and teachers say it's not taught in grade schools. i wonder why you think it is that governors and legislatures are moving in this way and pushing back against what they are calling a woke curriculum? >> it's a dog whistle because it's not taught in k-12 educational classrooms. we know that critical race theory is primarily taught in law school. and it is a way to look at the legal constructs of this country, that race is a social construct. and that social construct is not just about individual biases or prejudices, that the whole notion of racism is
