nitkowski is chasing his dream. again.a domingo, capital of the dominican republic. >> it took a lot of patience, phone calls. i've been trying to do this since october, trying to get here. >> reporter: he paid his own way, just to get a chance at a tryout with one of the four baseball teams still playing dominican winter ball. >> i told my agent, i said, listen, if you can get a team even slightly interested, let them know i'll come down, throw for them, let them see me in person. i understand teams will be hesitant because i didn't play baseball this year. >> reporter: that's why nitkowski finds himself here, outside the biggest baseball stadium in santa domingo, checking his blackberry, not quite sure what's going to happen next. >> i don't want to say it's a been a debalk ebel, but it's been a back-and-forth and uncertainty unser uncertainty from the beginning. i was told two weeks ago i probably had a job, then told i definitely had a job. then that fell through. >> reporter: on this day, his perseverance pays off. >>
