we'll take a look at noaa's expecting upwards of 17 that's a little bit above average, five to nine whichl become hurricanes and two to four which will become major hurricanes, at least a category three so we'll see how we do and it's worth a mention we did already see arlene rare april tropical storm that formed over the atlantic. the north atlantic no less, very rare for that to happen. let's talk thermal peeks. we're in the middle of what we like to call solar summer where the solar radiation is at its peak. then you get in lag that takes place. the warmer air temperature comes our way in july and the warm midwest water temperatures into august because there's that delayed reaction. air will heat up more readily than the water will. kind of like waiting for that slow boil from your pot on the stove. that's why the water temperature is at that kind of a lag but that's where we start to peak with these kinds of values. that's also the reason that you'll start to see a lot more activity in the tropics toward august, early september because you're at peak of the open ocean water. with that
