investigative reporter noah pransky helped break the news. and he's back - with an update on "hazards for hire". and how it may keep you safer next time you ha we found oustanding safety recalls in more than a quarter of the taxis, lyfts, and ubers we examined from tampa to new york to seattle....and other places in-between! some issues were mundane. but others - much more serious: airbags, door latches, and accelerator pedals. and now, hillsborough county's public transportation commission may close that recall loophole that's putting riders at- risk. "i'd like to take a look at them and we'd love to help work through this and get the cars as safe as possible, i kyle cockream tells us he'll bring up the investigation at the agency's next board meeting in december. his goal: to add a recall scan to the taxicab inspection process, so any risky ride gets repaired. "make no mistake about it, i mean, we need to be working with those companies to get those vehicles either satisfied with to the recall, or removed from the road....we'll be more than
