noel were told that the man who was shot is now in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. multiple agencies, including san francisco police and the da's office are now investigating the shooting happened around 10, 30 last night on jones street in the tenderloin. police say they were responding to reports of someone threatening people with a knife. now video from the citizens app shows a heavy police presence at the scene in the moments after the shooting. a police department spokesperson claims that officers made, quote, consistent attempts to de-escalate the situation and reach a peaceful solution. but they were unsuccessful. and the officers say that they were forced to open fire. >> yeah, i don't have the exact details what the suspected that precipitated the shooting. but at some point during the interaction, officers deadly force and that is all under investigation as to when and why they made that decision. all those details will be exported to come home. >> that town hall will happen sometime within the next 2 weeks. it will include the release of body camera video
