let's start first with noel walker. she's out there near the fire lines. >> reporter: you can see we're in the middle of a shift change. that's the night crew that came off and the day crew will be monitoring the hot spots and looking to finish containing this fire. we're joined by dave chu from cal fire. thankthank you so much for being here with us. we went up the hill where the moment in the -- where the home in the fire was destroyed. really, the major damage. you look at that and you -- it's kind of a necessary evil in fighting firefighters like this -- fires like this. >> unfortunately, when we have fires burning so rapidly hand moving so quickly. we have to make choices as to saving properties that are not involved all right -- already. unfortunately, the home that was lost was fully involved by the time it was discovered and there was obviously no chance for us to save it. so we had to focus on our resources on those homes and properties that we could save. >> our viewers are looking at that home. it clearly bur

noel walker is here now. >>> there is concern that the city will sweep through and clear out the campthere is also hope that that is what will happen among some businesses. >> press conference this afternoon a oakland business and city leaders was intended to start a dialogue. >> frank ogawa plaza wasn't designed for camping. lacks the infrastructure. >> reporter: then "occupy oakland" supporters drowned out the dialogue. >> reporter: the messages on both sides lost in a screaming match. >> actually proves the point that many of us have been saying that you can't dialogue with anybody in this movement. >> we came to have a peaceful discussion and talk about what we want and here they are over running us. >> reporter: at frank ogawa plaza it is growing. but there is also concern the movement is stunting business growth. >> i try to frequent the local businesses and i am concerned for them. >> reporter: the city cleared the camp site once and it came back bigger and stronger. >> there is always a concern that there is an attempt to take it away. i believe they will bring it back. >> rep

ktvu's noel walker tells us what the meeting said. >> reporter: the meeting let out 15 minutes ago.opy of the four resolutions that were on the table. among them opposing all violent police action and asking the administration to take responsibility for the action. all of them passed. >> reporter: a special meeting drew a standing room only crowd. there was only one purpose too, vote on resolution condemning the police action against protesters. >> whaled world have we incur -- what world have we entered? >> reporter: the faculty backed off the vote of no confidence in the chancellor who had a chance to speak. >> i am disturbed the events happened. i apologize. and frankly as chancellor take full responsibility for what occurred. >>> the administration says what happened with "occupy oakland" weighed heavily in the decision not to allow them to set up camp and not to allow police use pepper spray. but the use of batons weren't addressed. >> seems like they are trying to beat this down before it even gets to a point where it gets bigger. >> police issued a letter to students, faculty
