noelle walker is live to explain what happened. good morning, noelle. >> reporter: good morning. about 30 seconds ago a police car pulled up and we have officers looking around the area. all of this happened an hour before the clerk arrived for his shift. now at 9:00 last night a south san francisco police officer tried to do what police called a field interview with two suspects outside the station. we don't know what the suspects were suspected of doing or why the officer wanted to talk to them. but we do know it ended with the officer firing his gun. killing one suspect. >> during that contact one of the suspects started running from the officer. the officer gave chase. after a short foot pursuit, the suspect turned and at some point the firearm was removed from the suspects person by the suspect himself. the officer reacted. fired a single shot. >> reporter: now the clerk here tells us the arco station surveillance cameras did not catch the shooting. coming back here live we have a police officer with his flash out in the area where all this happened at 9:00 last night. and t

noelle walker, ktvu channel 2 news. >>> some wild video to show you.igh-speed chase overnight in contra costa county. look at this. sparks were flying from the stolen pickup truck after it ran over a police spike strip. that hour long chase started in pittsburg pittsburg ended on 680 near alamo. authorities say the suspect at one point was going 90 miles an hour, the wrong way, on highway 4. the suspect got out of the truck and then surrendered. the chase started when the suspect allegedly ignored a police order to pull over. we have new information now on a marijuana grow operation we first told you about at 4:30. we talked to police about an hour ago. they told us that firefighters responded at a house on yorkshire drive and antiong last night. that's when they found 500 marijuana plants. the house was vacant. police are now trying to figure out who is responsible. >>> and in antioch an innocent bystander was caught in the crossfire of a gun battle. police say two groups were arguing on sycamore and mandarin. a stray bullet hit a 31-year- old woman i

noelle walker is joining us live. she is in south san francisco getting all the information andy tails on what led up to this deadly shooting. >> reporter: that police suspect is the victim of an officer involved shooting. the woman that identified herself as his aunt told us the suspect/victim is 14 years old. he was at this mcdonalds with friends. we know a police officer tried to make contact with him for reasons we don't know. and then the teenager ran from that mcdonalds through this parking lot all the way to the e. of the arco station lot. that is where the officer who police say feared for his life shot the teen. we were here this morning when officers returned with flashlights presumably looking for more evidence or things they might have missed in their initial investigation. the station clerk on duty this morning described the scene when he started his shift shortly after the shooting. >> the whole gas station nobody can enter and get out of the station. and a lot of police cars were in the area. >> reporte
