i'm noelle bellow and i'm dan thorn. >> the shooting happened late last night on west napa street deputies responding to a report of a person breaking windows near the sonoma marketplace shopping center when they arrived. a second call for service came in about a man with a handgun. deputies talked with that man who then pulled out a gun and shot at least once towards them. deputies returned fire and struck the suspect who then ran through an alleyway in the direction of other deputies with that gun. still in his hand, a second deputy shot the man again and he fell to the ground. he was taken to a hospital in critical condition. and tonight we've learned that he's been transported to a hospital in the sacramento area for additional treatment. he has not been identified yet, but the sheriff's office says that he is a resident of sonoma valley. the 2 deputies involved in the shooting have been placed on paid administrative leave. they were not identified either. the sheriff's office says they are planning on releasing their names later on this week. >> a teacher from benicia middle school ha
