ktvu's noelle walker is live. >> reporter: this isn't just a matter of one beating but several that have them concerned about student safety in the place where they are supposed to feel safe. an hour and a half ago 12 protesters gathered outside before the meeting to demand the firing of security guards who beat three students as well as the firing of principals at the schools and they want the superintendent removed. take a look at this. this is one example. one of the beatings got media attention last may after this surveillance video surfaced. a guard pushing a wheelchair bound student out of his chair, kicking him in the head and pulling him into an elevator. another angle shows him being slapped in the head and tossed out of the chair. he has been in a wheelchair most of his life for cerebral palsy is still a junior at oakland high school, he was that meeting. >> we have a lot of violence in our community. i don't think that is right for us to have to deal with it also in school. school is a safe environment where we are supposed to lose. school is supposed to be safe. >> i share th

ktvu's noelle walker is live there now. neighbors saw police with their guns drawn? >> reporter: yes, they did. he was wanted for a murder in antioch, the morning of the napa earthquake, hours before the earth shook. >> reporter: this afternoon police swarmed an apartment complex in antioch while neighbors watched. stunned. >> cars. 5, 10 cars coming in. >> reporter: something actually more serious. police say they had u.s. marshals tracking a suspect. wanted for a murder on august 24 in antioch last year. the 22-year-old suspect whose name isn't being released yet fled in this silver car to this dead end. he ran into the home of a man police describe as an associate. officers followed. >> ran up in the house. he wouldn't come out. had guns drawn. telling the man to come out. surrender. >> reporter: he eventually did give up. police questioned the associate and then appeared to return some of his property and let him go. parents we talked to around here are worried. >> live here, it is great and everything. till now. >> reporter: she didn't want to be identified. >>
