[laughter] but unlike the d.c. media, i'm sure you all at least know there are two dakotas and i'm the governor of the warmer one. i am here today to share some of the lessons -- one of the main questions that needs to be answer is why does america need conservatives? the question of why america needs conservatives can be answered by just mentioning one single year. that year is 2020. everybody knows almost overnight we went from a roaring economy to a tragic, nationwide shut down. by the getting of 2020, president trump had created 7 million new american jobs. [applause] we had the lowest unemployment rate in over half a century and unemployment rates for lax and hispanics and asian americans reach the lowest levels in history. more than 10 million people had been lifted out of poverty and out of welfare and all of that

joining me now is the governor of south dakota, kristi noem, thank you for joining us, welcome! >> oh, thank you, rachel, i sure appreciate you having me on your show. >> rachel: absolutely, these blackouts we are seeing are reminiscent of what we saw in the former soviet union, cuba, and california last summer, is this what we can expect in a joe biden america that is pushing all these green energy policies? >> listen, i have always been a supporter of diversified energy. i think it is critically important that we prioritize all forms of energy. biden has gone after coal and oil and gas and i think that is dangerous. we should be supporting energy that is generated here in the united states so we rely on our own sources, but we don't put all of our eggs in one basket. we make sure it is diversified so we don't have the situation that we have in so many states, but it is not consistent and that's why you are going to need other forms of electricity to support the system in the grid so that families can keep their houses warm. >> rachel: absolutely, tell me really quickly, we are

ron desantis, the governor of florida, is next in line at 21%, followed by single digits for kristi noeml, tucker carlson, josh hawley, then mike pence with 1% and the list goes on and on. what's your read on this, margaret? >> ana, it's a snapshot in time. donald trump, of course he still owns the party. he's been the leader of the party for four years, he's captured the base. the real question is, there are senate races in 2022 that are up. if he's going to continue to own the party, what is he going to do to keep it? is he going to help and try to get the republican senate that he lost back? is he going to work closely with rick scott to help republican senators get back in office? is he for real or is he just about himself? and i think, you know, i've got a bet on that. >> by the way, if he did, would he help, right? that's the other thing, donald trump is' nor mussily popular with the base, deeply unpopular with a broad swath of the american people. joe biden has already got approval ratings that are much higher than trump ever got, even at the outset of his presidency. that's the o

governor christy noem is also calling for him to go.led, i believe the attorney general should resign. but ravnsborg is rebuffing calls to step down. in a statement to cnn, the spokesman said the attorney general does not intend to resign. at no time has this issue impeded his ability to do the work of the office. the prosecutors in this case, there simply wasn't enough evidence to support charges of vehicular homicide or manslaughter. south dakota doesn't have laws on the books to be able to indict someone basically on something called negligent homicide. we spoke to the victim's cousin yesterday evening. he said the family is extremely disturbed. he said of the attorney general, i'm convinced he saw joe in that moment before the crash. >> really interesting. and, obviously, charges are one thing. there's one standard for legal charges. there's another standard in terms of the political standard about how straight he was from the beginning about what he knew and what he believed. and that seemed to be where the questions are this morni
