-china trade tensions. -- nomura seems to be expecting a full-blown trade war. your base case? ben: the trade tensions were a surprise to us two weeks ago when we had the tweet from trump. i think the tensions are not going away. it does look like we are in some more of a trade war, but also increasingly this cold tech war as well. we have to remember that trade is still a relatively small part of global equity markets, certainly when it comes to the u.s. most of u.s. earnings are still domestically earned. over in the u k and europe, there is a lot more overseas, so it does have the potential for more material impact. i think you've got to look at where the impact's come from. if trump puts tariffs on auto manufacturers, most european cars bought in the u.s. are manufactured in the u.s. there are not that many cars that are exported from europe to the u.s. that would be flagged by those tariffs. i think the actual material economic impact of the trade war is a little bit less. the problem is that it does potentially have a big impact on sentiment more broadly.
