at noon. >> thanks for joining us here on kron. 4 news at noon. i'm noelle bellow, the owner of a martial arts studio in san jose has been arrested on charges of assault of a minor. 54 year-old ernest ramirez operated extreme martial arts located on elm street. he also ran an after-school program for trace elementary in san jose. police say that's where he met the 14 year-old victim and carried out the assaults from august 2020 through june of 2021, the victim and their family no longer live in the area and were out of state when they reported these incidents, ramirez was arrested back on june 9th. he faces multiple charges, including 4 counts of rape of a child under 14. also in san jose this afternoon, authorities are investigating after a suspicious device was found at a home in the willow glen neighborhood. this happened in the area of ko and delmas avenue. police say the bomb squad was brought in and rendered that device safe. they say they're still working to determine the type of device and there is no threat to the public at this time. >>

at noon. >> thanks for joining us here on kron. 4 news at noon. i'm noelle bellow tragedy struck the city of san jose over the weekend. police say a man who shot and killed a safeway employee is still on the run. the latest act of violence has rocked the community there. kron four's charles clifford joining us now live from san jose with the very latest updates from police this afternoon. charles. >> yeah, good afternoon. so the san jose police department gave us a briefing just a short time ago. a little bit of an update on this case. but let's start by looking at some video and talking about what we know so far now around 3.35. on sunday morning, the san jose police department responded to this safeway, which is along hamilton avenue in the 1500 block on reports of shots fired. they found one man inside the safeway suffering from a gunshot wound. he unfortunately died at the scene. and these investigators began questiouing everybody in the area looking for any witnesses, unfortunately, was very early in the morning. so not too many people around
