norah o'donnell is in moore, oklahoma. norah, good morning. the man said it all. we're oakies and we'll rebuild. >> reporter: that's right. good morning to you, charlie. it is a tough morning here but we've seen people from the beginning trying to pick up from this tornado. >> here at the newest information on the tornado. officials say they're confident no one is missing or trapped in the rubble. the death toll is still 24 including nine children. more than 320 people were treated for injuries at local hospitals. >> reporter: the national weather service now says the tornado had winds above 200 miles an hour. and take a look around me. you can see some of the damage that those winds did. we're in a different position than we were actually. on the other side of the hospital where we were standing yesterday. right behind me is actually what's left of what was a community bank. i actually talked with the manager of the bank. one of his trucks is here. he came back yesterday to see if there was anything still vallageable from his truck. we'll talk more about that and

norah o'donnell joins us in a moment., we are going to kick it over to traffic because liz has had a very busy day. take it away. >> reporter: chp just wrapped up the accident investigation at 6:45, about five minutes ago they reopened all lanes of southbound 680. we have been talking about a fatal accident since 4:30 a.m. it jammed up traffic on the ride through the sunol grade and down into fremont. in fact, it's still backed up even though they gave the "all clear." all lanes including the carpool toll lane, everything is reopened. we are still seeing a backup in the area, still a mess from pleasanton near the castlewood drive exit. that's where we're seeing brake lights and continuing towards andrade. the accident was south of the andrade road exit. westbound 580 through livermore and the southbound 680 commutes are still nearly an hour from southbound 680 from 580 towards 101. 56 minutes. so definitely in the red. you want to avoid 680 maybe in the meantime, wait it out a little while longer probably your best bet. w

. >> i'm charlie rose with gayle king and norah o'donnell. bracing. the worst damage was in central oklahoma. >> at least 21 injuries have been reported there, and one person was killed near the town of shawnee. anna werner is there. anna, good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning, gayle, norah, and charlie. this is what's left of some of the homes in this rural subdivision where there's a mix of houses and trailer homes. there's debris everywhere around us. trees are snapped in half and one man was killed. as the twister tore through the town of shawnee, oklahoma, sunday, it leveled this trailer park, reducing most of the homes to rubble. amid the destruction authorities discovered the body of a 79-year-old man. several other people were also injured. the twister was just one of several reported in centralsenc oklahoma that knocked out power to hundreds. in some cases residents had more than 30 minutes' notice. oklahoma's governor has declared a state of emergency in 16 counties across the state. funnel clouds were also reported in kans

[ laughter ] >> i'm charlie rose with gayle king and norah o'donnelltating spring of tornadoes. >> anna werner is in grandbury, about 75 miles south of ft. worth. >> reporter: good morning to you. officials here will be doing house-to-house searches they say looking for any people who might not not been able to get out last night. there are still some people unaccounted for. at least six people were killed when the three tornadoes came through this area. they touched down in ft. worth here. two subdivisions in the town of granbury were hit. the town was evacuated and officials are surveying the local damage but the local sheriff described the subdivision as demolished. a tornado hit another town from here, 45 minutes from here, cleburne but with widespread damage there, there was nobody killed there which is good news for cleburne. law officials closed off granbury as they continue to search. they're hoping to not find anybody else killed but they're hoping to find people that they haven't found thus far. they're planning on taking the media on a tour

. >>> i'm charlie rose with gayle king and norah o'donnell. the pacific coast. >> that's right. a fast-moving fire is burning north of los angeles. and thousands of people have been forced out of the area. carter he haveevans is in point magoo, california. >> reporter: good morning. as the sun rises here in the west, you can see some of the devastation left behind in this fire. overnight the fire moved west toward the pacific ocean. this area is under mandatory evacuations right now. the fire has forced thousands from their homes. this is day three of a fire season that usually does not begin until july. wind gusts of up to 50 miles per hour and record temperatures highs in the 90s fueled the flames. flames that damaged many homes and engulfed vehicles. it also caused explosions at an agricultural facility next to a strawberry farm. pesticides burning inside one of those buildings caused a hazardous materials situation. firefighters had to keep their distance from those flames for their own safety. there are only minor injuries for a few firef
