time for the stock of the hour, nordstrom.inz is talking about this stock which has taken a massive hit. down 17% today, less than stellar quarterly report last night. the main issues gross margins. those came in below analyst expectations at 33%. this is largely due to the investment the company is doing in digital. digital sales now make up about 30% of company sales but there are costs associated. other issues, same-store sales. they came in just under analyst estimates but that was mainly in their off-price segment, nordstrom rack. full price same-store sales coming in below analyst estimates, .4 versus estimates of 2%. another issue, a one-off related to credit charges, a $72 billion charge in the quarter. that was an issue for them as well. always an assumption in these kinds of scenarios at the company got it wrong. is it that investors were overly optimistic? nordstrom, you have jcpenney, dillards, all talking about margins. this is consistent across retailers for the third quarter. guy: black friday coming up, thank y
