supervisor norman yee: thank you madam clerk. first i want to thank supervisor kim's comments and taking a lead on submitting the resolutions that i'm coauthoring with her with supervisor avalos. the three main strategies that we are going to really get to the zero tolerance which is the street improvement piece, enforcement piece and education piece. all three of these strategies many of us are already aware of them, certainly in the district 7 pedestrian safety plan that report that i help put together this past year pointed out those three strategies. today i'm introducing a resolution along with supervisor's kim and avalos to create an action plan. let's go beyond, we are going to take a leap into the attempt to get us to zero. and so we want to have this pedestrian safety public awareness targeting the vehicle driver's and pedestrians. a lot of times we talk about this pedestrian safety awareness plan, people toned think it's all about what pedestrians should be doing. certainly that is an important piece of the ingredient,

supervisor norman yee: thank you. today i'm honoring an outstanding individual in district 7. mark christensen. please come to the podium. mark work tirelessly throughout the year with his neighborhood organization metna. which stands for merced extended triangle association to ensure his neighborhood gets the attention it deserves. besides supervisor avalos does anybody know where it is? when you come off the freeway on 280 going to 19th avenue, you shoot over the little triangle area. that's part of my district that hardly anybody knows about. but i do know and it has a nice supermarket area. due to mark's work it has not been totally forgotten. he works very hard to fill the unoccupied spaces on the mall and was successful in bringing the much needed grocery store at the time. mark is a driving force in recruiting many other people to get involved and work in a positive way with both city and the neighborhood. that is why he is also being awarded the neighborhood empowerment network lifetime achievement award that will be coming up soon. mark believes collaboration is the k

[ laughter ] c'mon up, fellows. thank you all so much for coming here. i think the principal marcus -- is here. thank you so much for taking time out of your business schedule for being here. i know you are all very busy preparing for finals. you look good today. i love the ties and outfits. i'm really proud of you all because it takes a lot of hard work and teamwork to come together to win a championship. you brought so many people from galileo from many years came out to watch you all play and you inspired us. it was probably one of the behind -- best football games in many many years. it was one of the best football games that many people have seen and maybe some of the old guys that said we used to do it this way or that way. they were very impressed by how you played on the field and it was clear that you guys were a team and you worked hard for it and came together. i'm so proud of our coach here m
