on behalf of norman yee i want to be sure you hear his words. his words were we should name the whole damn central subway after rose because it wouldn't exist but for her. i think norman is known for his summation of his dealings. that is it. as a san francisco resident and mother of three children i am raising in san francisco, i want to tell you that i didn't just hear about rose pak. i knew rose pak. rose pak was a chain smoking woman with a great sense of humor who loved to cook and carried candy and toys in her pockets to give to children in chinatown. i know this because she did this for my children. we need more like rose pak who will not say i am going to smile more, i am going to fight to protect my community. i was told my entire life be nice. don't rock the boat. smile when you go out in public. don't make enemies and clearly rose listened to it. i was inspired by her to also not listen to that. frankly it is bullshit. we need moroses. more -- more l. for her name to be that there you want a plaque with her name on it great. we should

[laughter] i really want to think them air, your staff, and i know i will be repeating what has been said, but it is worth repeating when people work so hard to put the most important document together for san franciscans. so once again, mayor, your director over there, kelly, thank you very much. thank you very much to ben rosenfield and your team. and the budget legislative analyst. thank you for putting this budget together. but more importantly, when i became president in january, one of the first things i said was that i'm going to make this board of supervisors, this set of 11 people, the best that we can ever have in san francisco. to serve our community, to serve our residents, to serve the most vulnerable, and the most important committee to help serve these people is the budget commi

[applause.] and through hope sf, which is revitalizing and france forming communities in hunters view and right here in sunny dale and with the reconstruction of the long overdue transformation of the san francisco housing authority. we are b

of supervisors unanimously passed a resolution in support of the renaming authored by president norman yee and co-sponsored by five of my colleagues, including myself. i wanted to thank commissioner low for your support in bringing this issue forward for consideration. i speak to you today as an elected official, but also as a fourth-generation san franciscan american, whose grandparenteds and great-grandparents lived through the exclusion act which fuelled anti-chinese sentiment in the united states. it has been well-documented that former congressman julius kahn was committed to upholding racist and exclusionary acts. he was publicly speaking in racist terms about many minors. our parks are and should be places that are safe, inclusive, and celebratory in san francisco and our world. the current name of this park tarnishes the reputation of the parks and rec department and the city as a whole and it's time to make the change today. i appreciate your consideration. thank you. >> thank you. supervisor yee's office. >> thank you, commissioners. on behalf of supervisor yee, we are just thank
