plume pushes north temporarily.a look at the futurecast when it comes to the long range models. so we get past the weekend. we are enjoying some nice rain. temperatures are relatively mild, but then this begins to drop in and this is going to be a colder storm by monday. this is the system that will drop snow levels once again, perhaps 4 or 5000ft. and notice how this continues to drop south. this is coming from british columbia, so it's packing some cold air with it. and it may even bring us lower snow levels. by thursday into friday we may see a dusting in our hills. so that's what's coming late in the week. long story short, three systems coming our way. and between now and wednesday, we're looking at several inches of rainfall for the north bay, less for the central and south bay. but at some point we will probably have, you know, real flooding concerns. we'll be watching it outside our doors this afternoon, upper 50s to low 60s. not much change with the temperatures on sunday, but we get into the business week

it's really heading towards the north here. but it looks like we are in the clear with those winds moving up to the north, a breezy conditions. and we're expecting another round of winds as next system is arriving. so let's talk about the rain totals. we saw almost 4 inches of rain in mount tam. as you can see, the north facing the bulk of the rain from this last. that's 24 hours. santa rosa temper on said just under at 2 inches of rain and under an inch of rain in san francisco, a quarter of an inch in oakland and what rate you may be thinking if you're in san jose. and here's that system coming the hawaiian islands. that atmospheric river set up. it will be tapping into that subtropical moisture at this hour. we're seeing some light showers pass through. here's that future cast model overnight at tonight. you can see most of that activity is staying to the north bay and the overnight hours as the 06:00am. now, maybe some rain moving through most of the north bay approaching the golden gate heavy at times depending where you a

the heaviest of the moisture well off to our north and across our north bay communities where the nosee located. but, by monday and into tuesday. that's more expecting the bulk of the moisture to move across the bay area. that's where we'll be seeing those heavier downpours. again not arriving though until monday afternoon and evening and overnight and into early tuesday morning. that's where we'll be seeing the heaviest of activities. especially south that's where you'll be getting most of the action with that monday to tuesday storm system. today and into tomorrow we'll be seeing an additional inch, inch and a half into our north bay communities. maybe a .1 of an inch. more widespread blanket of rain arrives for everyone throughout the later evening hours monday. potentially over two inches of rain for san jose and over 5-inches of rain for the santa cruz mountains and up across our north bay highest communities. it really depends on where you're located but either way. we are going to continue to see quite a lot of activity over the next seven days. the next seven days are going to

the north bay over the next several days is where you'll be adding up more and more rain. this is the seven-day estimate from the weather prediction center. this is on top of what's already fallen, 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 inches of rain for the north bay. even in the rain shadow of the santa cruz mountains i think you'll pick up a decent amount of moisture over the next seven days. here's the seven-day forecast. there is one dry day, wednesday. we get a chance to let the rain soak in a day and then another round of rain is likely by thursday and friday next week, ending the first full week of february on the complete opposite note of how we spent most of this very dry month of january. things are shifting just as the calendar page turns of anne? >> all right. we asked for it. >>> these storms could help boost the snowpack in the sierra. it measured just over 22 inches today in the latest survey at phillips station. that is two inches less than last month because of our dry january and 46% of average for this time of year. our first alert weather team will continue to stay on top of

same thing for the north bay. a little bit of a rain shadow in the south bay, a quarter to about three quarters of an inch. and then as we head through sunday's forecast, we'll pick up on additional rainfall. but it really looks like the target's going to be over the north bay with a half to about one inch and a third in san francisco to trace amounts down here in the south bay. so when it com to our flood concern, well, everybody should just really be careful this weekend. i think it's going to be marin, napa and sonoma counties with the highest risk of any kind of flooding. so just be careful, especially around any small creeks and streams. they will start to rise pretty quickly once we get under some of that heavier rainfall. we're not expecting huge wind gusts here, but it will kick up at times out of the southwest, 15 to about 35mph should be manageable on the wind front. temperatures here in the upper 40s to low 50s, so grab the jacket along with the umbrella. tomorrow. we're at 54, in san francisco, 49 in t

and then for sunday, the bulk of the action could be focused up in the north bay. then it moves across the heart of the bay area later in the day, monday and into tuesday. rainfall projections through wednesday will be adding up in the coastal hills of the north bay. could be around 8 to 10in. down in the south bay could be around 2 to 3in. so there's a lot of rain. and especially for the monday tuesday we'll have to keep an eye on things because that's what we're already adding some water to the creeks and streams right now, but we're going to add more into early next week. here's the satellite where you can see hawaii's way back here. here's this moisture plume going across the pacific and focused in northern california, as i mentioned, and already producing some rainfall today, but nothing too major. here's a look at the radar imagery. as you can see, still some scattered rain across parts of the bay area for tonight. just outside of san jose, right around san jose and milpitas. here is our live camera. we're showing you some of the current numbers out there. we
