it's really picked up just north of santa rosa on 101, and also just now starting to arrive in san rafaelwith some light showers and some drizzle coming in for south san francisco. all of this rain will continue to move from north to south and cover the bay area. at times it may be heavy, but at times we may get some breaks. look at 3:00 tomorrow afternoon. we may not see much activity at all and getting a lot lighter, but then picking up again early on sunday morning and continuing into monday, and we see still some rain in the forecast for next week. so just today we could see some parts of the bay area getting a significant soaking in the north bay, about three quarters of an inch of rainfall from san francisco to 3/10 of an inch of rain, but much less for the south bay. until tomorrow, when we see the rainfall totals starting to increase. and next week in total, we could see about seven to possibly closer to eight inches of rainfall. farther to the north. and in san jose, that's about two inches. that's possible, which would really help with this rainfall deficit that's continuing to

north to south. we were driving along the 101 into sonoma county through the morning hours. it hasn't been bad, but steady light rain. it's in the afternoon hours where drivers may need to be careful. that's because drivers will likely have to take it slow in the afternoon, when showers are expected to pick up. remember, it's been a dry january. we haven't seen rain in the bay area for about three weeks, so the roads are expected to be slick out there with all that oil and the grease that has accumulated on the road surfaces, the north bay is expected to see the highest risk for flooding for several inches of rain anticipated. look for your city's website. they have where sandbag stations are set up. if you need to prepare and protect your home. well, i hope it doesn't get too bad. this amount is great. a little more would be good, but yeah, if it leads to flooding, that's that's not good. earlier today we went over to a sandbag station over in rohnert park. they do have a limitation of 25 bags. so you want to check with public works to see how many you're able to take. roll
