a lot of rain has shifted east and north of asheville. look at all this recent rainfall from the 21st all the way through today. we've had nine days straight of measurable rain. a record rain fall on christmas eve. 1.54 today. 4/10 of an inch of rain. almost two inches of rain. impressive. 62 degrees. it is mostly cloudy. now we're dry in asheville. humidity is still pretty high. the dew p pint is still pretty warm. the dew point is still pretty high in the upstate in the low 60s. but there is change coming. dryer air and certainly colder air. look at the 20s right now as you go to the midwest. that cold air is beginning to ooze it's way southeast ward. now it's not going to be 20s. chill as we see highs in the 40s for friday and in to the weekend, too. much colder than the 70s and 60s we have been enjoying lately. there's that cold wind for the northwest. area of high pressure anchors its way to the south. it's just going to be chilly. believe you me, but dry. here's your future cast. a lot of cloud cover again. some of this will erode a

western north carolina got over 1.5 inches in the asheville area, leading to look less flooding. the flash flood warning has been dropped for the asheville area. we will see a few creeks and streams out of their banks. all of the counties highlighted in light green means a flood watch, watching for the potential of more flooding because another wave of action is expected to start tomorrow morning and impact our upstate, northeastern georgia, western north carolina region all the way through wednesday night. this is the first wave. another low down in the gulf will develop and run up there the southeastern corner of the another inch of rain in the process. we have had a lot of rain this fall. it is not over yet. we have one more day of it before we see a break in the action. good weather coming in for the end of the weekend weekend. 68 in anderson and greenville, 70 in abbeville, greenwood at 69, let's check on a few other communities the mountains. 59 in waynesville. 58 in fletcher, mars hill at 57. these are mild temperatures for this time of the year when we typically have cold
