the two children were found in the car on north hillview avenue near interstate 680. chase cane is live in milpitas with more on this story. >> reporter: the only reason neighbors and, therefore, police found out these two kids were left alone in this car is because a neighbor here on this street walked out of her house yesterday afternoon and saw a kid with their foot on the steering wheel blowing the horn to get someone's attention. that suv was parked on the street behind me sort of where you see the white suv. hours later the police arrested the children's father. 29-year-old julio reyes. he faces two felony charges of child endangerment. now, police say that reyes told them he had parked the kids there and gone to a friend's house. he did not elaborate on exactly what that means. police say he dropped the kids off there before midnight tuesday night and the neighbor did not find them until a little after 1:00 yesterday afternoon. that's at least 13 hours the children spent in the car. when police showed up they said the kids were okay but certainly very hungry. a
