the shooting happened saturday night just after 1030 on north bell avenue. 3 men were shot. one of them died from their injuries. now, the death is now the city's 16th homicide of 2021. a record number of guns have been confiscated in california from people deemed a danger by the court system. authorities say nearly 1300 guns are confiscated last year. that is 100 more than the year before. and now it's all a part of the red flag gun law that allows family members to block people believed to be a risk to themselves or others from having firearms. the law took effect in 2016 following the 2014 massacre. and i love this stuff. the oakland police department could get more than 650 million dollars for the next 2 years. that's all according to the newly released city budget proposal from mayor libby shaft. the mayor's office says the proposed budget reserves core police services so they can address the violent crime. it also gives the police department 325 million dollars in 2021 22 and 334 million dollars and 2022 23 the police officers association. president says the department

police said the man was first spotted last night on the roof of the home on donahue avenue north of highway 12 and in the backyard of a home on jose avenue. but police could not find him then, just after midnight, a man broke into a home on pacheco place and attacked the resident with a baseball bat later that morning, a resident found the man in his karaj and took him to an urgent care facility, saying he appeared to be hurt. that resident also called police who tracked the man down and took him in. custody in the south bay. two high schools are facing sexual abuse lawsuits. heather hennessy says she was repeatedly sexually abused when she was 14 years old by her track, coach. she okey robinson. she says the abuse started back in 1998 when she was a freshman archbishop mitty high school in san jose. the lawsuit alleges that the school had knowledge of the abuse but did nothing to stop it. hennessey transferred the last gallows high school the next year and the same code. was hired there, she says. she asked for help and that robinson continued to abuse her and other girls on the track team

this is in north richmond, right near pittsburgh avenue in central pretty close to the richmond parkway, a fairly industrial area in the city of richmond sky. fox was over the same just a short time ago taking this video. now we do know the first calls came in a little bit after 10 o'clock this morning, hundreds of wooden pallets stacked at this business have been burning fire trucks pulled up on scene and immediately got those aerials up and started dumping water hose lines also on the ground, getting water on those flames. now beside the wooden pallets, some semi trailers also burn in this fire. no injuries have been reported at this point, and firefighters will be there for quite some time, making sure nothing sparks up again. firefighters in the east bay are cleaning up vegetation. fire on mission pick this one started just before 4 30 this morning and firefighters from three different agencies. responded this fire was burning in steep terrain, which made it pretty difficult for firefighters to get up close to the flames. but they do say that they had something working in their favo

in north richmond spent much of today watching for smoldering debris at the scene of a big industrial fire. it started just before 10 this morning at a pallet yard on central street at pittsburgh avenue sky, fox flew over the scene as crews from richmond in the contra costa county fire protection district work to put out the flames in stacks of pallets. hundreds of them burned. some truck trailers parked in the yard were also burned in the fire. no injuries were reported. the cause of that fire still has not been determined tonight. and local employees are investigating a deadly shooting this afternoon on eighth street near broadway, right at the edge of the city's chinatown neighborhood, investigators say 20 or more rounds were fired from a rifle and a handgun. okay employees say they actually heard the gunshots from their headquarters, which are only about a block away, and they then rushed to the scene where they found the victim was several gunshot wounds. this is a heinous crime. it just speaks to the level of craziness that's going on in our city, not only our city but across the country, but this has to stop. authorities are still working to confirm the name of the man who was
