right now 55 in the north bay. you'll get the showers first here on the grids. for the east bay, seven mile and less visibility and very overcast across the south bay. in san francisco right now, it's not only the clouds you're dealing with but also areas of fog. this will likely be the cloudiest spot here the next 24 hours. also some of the coolest weather there as well. let's take you to the pattern, high pressure has been locked here not for days but again for about four to six weeks across the bay. sitting across a lot of the west. that is now going to finally start to kick off toward the east and with that we do think this cold front later on this week will sweep across the bay and eventually bring us some much-needed rain. there's some moisture with this. the bulk of it will head off to the north but we'll still get a slice of this to come our way. tomorrow morning we'll find some rainfall off to the north. we can't rule out a stray isolated shower up in the north bay, but tuesday is not our storm day. not even here as we head throughout wednesday morning.

temperatures in the 20s across the north bay and the delta. and one of the colder spots at 26 degrees. they will continue to drop until we reach sunrise. it is milder in san francisco at 51. 42 now in san mateo. if you have somewhere to go. as we head into the afternoon it will be breezy by the bay. we'll see mainly sunny skies and temperatures in the 60s. and similar weather for the rest of the week. it could be warmer. we're looking at breaking records, perhaps scattered showers into the middle of next week. here is robin. if you are hitting the roads, no problems out there. nice light traffic in the bay area. that's expected a lot of people have the day off. and traffic into san francisco. it has been a smooth ride. hardly any cars out no. delays a trip from the oakland maz at the moment downtown. the rest of the area dog just fine. area doing just fine. and that is gone out of the way a problem in the south bay clearing. north 101 at the split a nice ride on the peninsula. no problems in the north bay. a full traffic check in a bit. back t

so it will cool off, in the north bay, east bay and tri-valley will be okay but a lot of clouds intors. and a huge storm system that will change the way we spent our whole january. as we move into february, this massive storm system is set to make its arrive across the bay area this upcoming week. it will open the storm door wide open for february. not only do we have a chance of showers that we're looking at for wednesday and thursday, but as we look at some of the long-range models, it looks like friday and sunday we could look at more showers. so if these computer models hold together, this could change things up through february. but on the short-term of things, tomorrow do expect to stay dry across the board but tuesday is when we'll see the drizzle approach and by wednesday night those showers will set to rise across the bay area. look at those showers setting up right across the northern part of california. so by wednesday night the showers move through and then thursday morning we'll still be looking at a few showers, at least for the first half of the day. it looks like thur

just in the north bay. then the chance of showers lingers throughout the day today. . but we will look for a return to not only try -- dry conditions but record warmth and high fire danger as we head toward the first part of next week. with the incoming cold front we are looking at sneaker waves and a large northwesterly swell from point reyes and down. and the satellite and radar composite shows high pressure giving which and the low pressure pushing through today and that will bring just a little bit of rain. in fact, barely measurable rain, but as we look at our model animator here you will notice it does hold together in the north by. perhaps a tenth of an inch here but as it pushes through the rest of the bay in the afternoon, we are looking at it falling apart. the deficit continues to agree to nearly five inches in livermore to 15 inches below in ukiah. high temperatures statewide, still 7 0s and the santa ana winds will be picking up. 40s and 50s in the mountains. snow level is high but still we will see a couple of inches out of this in the mountains. 58 toda
