this morning, as you guys mentioned, we are seeing some clouds and fog across parts of the north bay. our next storm system that will arrive later on this afternoon and evening. before you head out this morning, grab the umbrella because once you head home it will be raining across the bay area. we're talking about rush hour, 5:00, 6:00 is more when we're expecting the widespread rain. temperatures mild today and back close to 50 degrees and that fog an issue across the north bay. mike, that's what you're talking about, right? >> we're talking about the golden gate bridge and lights across the bridge visible and nothing on the north side of the bridge visible. that's significant. look at your map, even lower visibility. right here the oronge, san rafael and, in fact, our san rafael camera which is usually not affected we don't see it this morning because it is blocked out by that fog and you can't see the roadway. a note for folks driving through that area. the rest of the bay moves very well and any build out of the tri-valley, coming up. >>> oh, look at that. a wild celebration over

so that start at least, the heavy rain is going to be stuck in the north bay. as you wake up tomorrow morning, the south bay could be dry for the better part of the day. by 5:00, most of the significant rain is still north of san francisco. that's going to continue to add up throughout the day. that's where some small stream and street flooding could happen in the north bay. by sunday, the rain begins to move to the south. in the sierra, maybe enough for about a foot of snow across to the higher peaks there as we go into monday, so tomorrow, a relatively dry start for the south bay, it's going to take some time before the rain reaches areas around san jose and morgan hills. an all day rain event for the north bay. temperatures there upper 50s to low 60s in the tri-valley. on monday, we catch a bit of a bleak then another storm arrives on tuesday. on wednesday, every other day a storm arrives in the bay area, the next one, we get one to three inches of rain for most of the bay area, sunday into monday. tuesday the next storm arrives and just in case you have plan

but a few showers in the north bay. coast, as far south as the san mateo coast but we are looking at the heaviest rain throughout the morning hours here in the northbound bay. we had rain that really didn't let up yesterday. the concerns with the burn areas around lake county, and the rivers. you will get heavy rain throughout the entire day. as i widen the view you will see what's on the way for all of us. it will take some time early afternoon to get into san franci

also in parts of the north bay. watch out for that. other than that, we'll start out with some cool temperatures and as we drop in on the east bay, temperatures in pleasanton are now at 42 degrees. it's 48 degrees in arinda and oakland now at 46 degrees. 52 degrees in the north bay. we're heading into the mid-60s this afternoon in the south bay. a lot of sunshine. 70 degrees tomorrow. and don't get too used to this because we'll only see this weather for the next few days as you can see with that forecast, once again, at the bottom of your screen. it will be getting much colder and here's the reason why. several storm systems moving in. they're well off shore now, but as it it moves in, this first initial line will kind of fizzle out. the next one right behind that will start to bring in some rain to the north late thursday night into friday. here we are on friday afternoon. looks like it is just raining off and on all day. and, also, at times on saturday. sunday also another heavy round of rain moving through. so, during that time, we

the pattern is favorable especially to the north bay. north bay had an inch of rain. and other locations had less than a tenth. and that looks to be the setup. clouds on the increase and we have fog. but the plume is really taking aim from fort bragg, north. 30s and 40s and temperatures are starting to come up a little bit. it was getting pretty cold for a while. and it's chilly to cold and moisture is moving in. this system will do more to the north. and increasing clouds and afternoon rain, more to the north bay. and by this evening it makes it southward. highs today, low to mid-50s. 6:00 in the morning and it's the usually slow. anything else to pop up? >> we've had a couple of incidents. it's been a nice commute starting with the east shore freeway and giving you a time here for 80 westbound. it's 21 minutes as you drive between the carquinez bridge and the macarthur maze. the chp -- is not much. we had a little bit of a hazard on the bridge. and a stalled truck up on the bridge or some sort of debris. and we're reaching here. we don't have a lot going on. there's

it hit the north bay first. heavy rain in marin county. on the coast, large waves crashed ashore. people across the bay area preparing for the threat of flooding. we have team coverage of the storm and what it's expected to bring for the monday morning commute. >> right now, we're seeing an urban and small stream advisory. you can see the reason why we have the advisories going up. in the last two hours alone, more than an inch of rain has come down, the heaviest of rain offshore starts to move in. still counting in san francisco. obviously, a very rainy drive there. rainy looking from the north bay back down to san francisco. tiburon, and it's wind plus rain right now in oakland at 57 degrees. heavy rain falling, and you can see the rain across the north bay, where we still have flood watches in effect for those north bay counties. san francisco over towards oakland and heyward, watching the heavy rain there starting to reach the tri-valley now and rain dropping into san jose. you can see all this moisture being lifted up out of the subtropics aiming in on the bay area, powering u

again, showers are possible for the north bay. turning cloudy in san francisco later on this afternoon. 57 there. the east bay and ninsethe penin. a good mix of sun and clouds to date. mike, how are those roads moving? >> a good mix of cars and car. westbound 80 university avenue. so you see that volume of traffic and that's great because look at the sensors they're all showing up green through the east shore freeway. a crash reported just before you get here. approaching golden gate field and not a lot of slowing and, in fact, everything sounds like it is off to the shoulder. the bay bridge toll plaza metering lights turned on any second now as long as it is starting to build only on the approach as we widen out, the crash west highway 4 and presenting a problem for the antioch commute and little build for antioch commute. >>> now to breaking news we have been following all morning. if you're waking up, at least ten people are dead and 15 others injured after an apparent suicide bombing in istanbul. kris sanchez monitoring the ove

look how the rain stays in the north bay for much of the morning hours. the heaviest rain still north of cloverdale, 2:00. but by 5:00 we have heavy rain pushing along the coast. and right here, this rain not really letting up much. so that's why we are looking at perhaps some of the rivers coming out of their banks up around mendocino county. about 5:00 tonight we have the rain in hayward, and fremont. and right on through the overnight hours through san jose and sunnyvale. the central coast will get into the act late, and by 4:00 in the morning things really quiet down. so we will look for the rainfall intensity in san jose to get going about 6:30, 7:00. and there after just continue for maybe three quarters of an inch of rain, maybe a half-inch around mountain view. certainly favoring the north bay. remember there's another one on the way at 2:00 on tuesday. here it is. monday we are dry and just a few showers. but then look what happens overnight into tuesday. the second system with gustier winds, a 2 on the storm impact scale, will give us another inc

only five miles per hour right now with the fog in the north bay is spilling cross the bay. it could make it to the golden gate. umbrella is needed not this morning but this afternoon and evening. a series of storm on friday through tuesday and each storm is friending wetter. today is the weakest from "1" to "3" on the impact scale, and today we are a "1" and up to 1" in the north bay and slight wind, just a nuisance falling during the commute this evening. by noon it is moving into the north bay and by 4:00, the steady rain is right at the san mateo bridge with showers ahead of it in the south bay and the steady rain takes over all of our neighbors during the evening commute through 7:00 and it continues through 9:00 and we start to see the clearing across the north bay, spreading south by 4:00 tomorrow morning, and maybe a lingering light shower by the end of the commute tomorrow it is again. here is a look at the rain, some mayors may not make it to .1" and we could get the rain shield numbers around san carlos and mountain view and to san jose. high seven-day forecast sh

bay areas today. but for the most part the most significant part has been to our north. look to this moisture stream going all the way back to northern california. it is picking up all the brunt of the arrival over the -- rainfall throughout the bay area. not too much coverage on the radar right now. you can see a little bit of green out there. here you can see some activity in parts of the north bay and i think the coverage will be increasing later on tonight in in terms of the shower activity. current numbers, santa rosa 54, san francisco 58 and our friends in napa reporting 57- degrees and mostly cloudy skies. next system moves in tomorrow. kind of a big range and a tenth of an inch, not much in the south bay, but in the north bay over an inch of rain, and storm watch out over the sierra. chance of rain for the northern half of the bay area. as i mentioned the north bay picking up the rainfall. here we are santa rosa tonight. more rain expected with sky cast model showing you that and showers likely by 3:00 and the number will continue to go up. offshore all the storms

san francisco and the north bay is where we're expecting it once the sun will be up. but once the sun goes down, east bay, peninsula, south bay is when we'll see the showers once the sunshiet hits. temperatures are going to be mild today, close to 60 degrees. here's our first storm system and the next one moves in for saturday and another one right behind that one is going to move in as we head towards sunday night into monday. let's time out this first storm system for you and you'll notice the clouds starting to spill in across the bay. high, thin clouds and once the sun comes up we'll see some sunshine and north bay, that's when you'll see the showers first. this is around 1:00 and then san francisco the east bay and the peninsula will see the showers we head towards rush hour and really right in the heart of the evening rush hour is when we're expecting the heaviest of rain around 5:00, 6:00. widespread rain for the entire bay area and that will continue until midnight and then things will start to spread out and see some fun on some sun once we get to tomorrow mor

north bay, east bay and also for the tri-valley. no huge differences here.in, this air mass up above is really helping to just level out our temperatures across the board. that puts napa at 53 degrees for the east bay. oakland coming in at 57. little bit cooler back into the walnut creek at 52 and the tri-valley will also come in with low to mid-50s. we've been talking about this possibility of rainfall, that's what i want to bring you to, next. you can see the cold front is about 200, 300 miles off shore. that is the main thing that is going to help the change-up our weather as we head throughout this weekend. so, now, let's go ahead and get a look at the rain timeline. this system, albeit has been a little bit squirrelly. which you should know saturday at 11:30 start to see the rainfall develop off shore. looks like we won't see the first raindrops until aural esunday morning. maybe on down to san jose. here's the thing as we head through the morning hours, we'll likely undergo a little bit of a break that's because the storm is expected to stall off shore

it's going to be in the north bay the most. 2-3 inches from the north bay from noon tomorrow until monday. and maybe as much as 5 inches in the north bay hills and for the east bay and south bay. because of all this rain expected into the north bay, a flash flood watch is expected for napa, sonoma and marin county and mud slides as well. we'll talk about more storms next week. >>> the search for a missing deer in pahoa. he was reported missing on friday after never returning home. pings from his cellphone are no longer picked up. more than 50 searchers are scanning a 30-square foot mile area. search dogs are joining in the effort. >>> who knew that stopping for district attorney's could cost you your car. that's what happened to 1 man in san francisco. it was all caught on video. here it is. he pulled into the gas station and left his car running and when the victim returned shockingly no sight of his 2000 honda accord. the car was later recovered the next day by the police department. >>> police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a lyft driver at 1:00 a.m. in the district's ten
