north bay temperatures may peak around lunchtime. i think we'll see a south wind towards the afternoon. we hopefully won't get this warm around napa and sonoma. ukiah and clear lake, above 105 degrees there. wildfire smoke, we'll see more fire intensity. this is the the beckwourth complex north of lake tahoe. the salt fires here in north redding. upper air smoke, above 8 to 10,000 feet, is pretty extensive. the near surface smoke, there's some signs as the wind starts to turn more northwesterly down the coast tomorrow, around the north bay this time tomorrow, you may see hazy skies. light to moderate, nothing like less september, but we may see less blue skies. smoke may drop down the coast as we widen out for you. the source will likely be these fires north of redding coming down the coast as the sea breeze turns down. we'll see fog in san francisco, we'll see more of it being pushed inland. at the same time that change in wind may try to bring smoke to the south, closer to the north bay, as early as late tomorrow. there's a look at

seems to get more intense and peaking on saturday, so we will see more widespread highs from the north bayst bay, friday into saturday and still hot weather into the weekend. as the high pressure comes in from the desert southwest, instead of getting our cool ocean breeze we are getting a southerly wind, and as that rushes through some of the valleys and into the bay area, it's going to heat up. so our temperatures in spots like brentwood are going to be extremely hot. here we're talking about a high of 110 degrees on saturday. i know, it's going to be brutal. we are going to see this lasting for several days so when we do have heat several days in a row that's what really makes it dangerous because it doesn't cool off that much at night. as we look at our inland forecast, it will be hot throughout the weekend and so make plans to keep cool out there. next week we catch a break as temperatures on tuesday and wednesday head back to the 80s, and san francisco thankfully doesn't heat up. we will have a place to go cool off. our coastal areas looking at 70s and a lot more sunshine, which is so

look at all this lightning that you're seeing just offshore west of the north bay. this line of showers right here is moving outside of the bay area. so not really posing in immediate threat to the vicinity. this is what i'm talking about. what i'm talking that lightning and convective energy, though due to no moisture that brings us the possibility of thunderstorms to the bay area itself. it's nice to see this energy, having shifted offshore where it's obviously not going to result in any sort of fire risk. we do have this level of area, this area of rainfall sitting just off shore of the central coast, though, moisture associated with this is more likely to spark up a thunderstorm or 2 here across the bay area. some going to be looking really closely at what we do see developing over the course of the next few hours here on into the afternoon. after that monsoonal moisture exits. the picture and we're coming back down for the rest of this forecast. 60's and 70's for your highs. and san francisco will be 60's along the coastline a more comfortable day along the coas
