we are going to first start to see it in the north bay at about 10:00 and then moving through the rest of the bay area by about 3:00 to 4:00, and then clearing out sunday night. so it's going to be wave after wave of rain, and of course that timing may shift just a bit. but our temperatures staying low. only in the upper 40s and low 50s today. and then going ahead into next week, there will be more storm systems coming in. so we have that one on sunday, another one right behind that on monday that may be slightly colder. we'll see that linger into tuesday, possibly early wednesday before we catch a bigger break. as far as how much additional rain, maybe another quarter to half inch. but in total through next week we could see another 2 to 2 1/2 inches of rainfall in spots. and then the sierra is going to see another couple of feet of snow this weekend, and then going all the way out through next week there's going to be additional snowfall. in total, we could see another 95 inches of snow in kirkwood. so this has really been an amazing season in terms of our precipitation, and it looks

some people decided to make the trip to see the snow up close from the east bay to the north bay, the south bay and beyond. we saw snow today in a number of locations. let's start up in the north bay, which certainly saw its share of snow and ice and all the troubles that come with this extreme weather. ktvu james taurus spent his morning in and around napa where people were trying to make the best of things. we're talking 68 inches here in napa valley. all of that snow accumulating overnight and it just hasn't stopped off throughout the morning. you can see how much of that it's just on the roadway here. but this snow, it isn't light and fluffy and powdery. no, it's dense. it's thick and it's heavy, and it's weighing heavy on trees that are coming down power lines that are coming down more trees in the distance. all of that. falling onto roadways here in napa county, so anyone who has been traveling up and down say places like angwin down over closer to the peninsula have had to face major headaches. chaos lots of snow. a lot of trees down trees and power lines. you don't need the po

and very frustrating for many, but just the beauty of that snow out there on our hills and in the north bay the way down to about 250 ft this morning, santa rosa cold for you 46 degrees right now cold conquered at 49 san jose at 49 so temperatures in and around the bay area right now, mid forties to mid fifties, and most of us are enjoying at least a little bit of sunshine. we still have the possibility of scattered showers in the forecast. here's a look at some of the rainfall amounts from the last 24 hours, anywhere from 91 1/100 of an inch there in redwood city to an inch and two tents for san francisco kent filled in the north bay, picking up more than an inch and a half mil valley. almost an inch and a half and some of these numbers from the national weather service from today in the north bay against snow levels were down to almost 250 ft. in some areas, with 1 to 2, even three inches of snow. paul more than that, for some of the higher elevation levels. the east bay east bay hills picked up 1 to 3 inches in the santa cruz mountains. 10 to 12 inches reported at about 12 25 100 ft up.

so no surprise here yet another cold morning, cold enough for frost advisories again for the north bay inland east bay, santa clara valley and upper elevations on the peninsula and much like yesterday continuing through 09:00am this morning. aside from that today is going to be a nice sunny afternoon, a few passing clouds moving in from the west. but don't expect that to make it a great one by any means. just not quite as crystal clear as yesterday was still seeing whether influenced by this high-pressure ridge. but our next storm system is on the horizon. and you could actually time it out on futurecast today. we stay nice and dry tomorrow, a few more clouds to be noted in future cast. it won't be until after midnight tomorrow night. so really friday morning that we see showers moving into the bay area will start to push into the north bay right around 02:00am and then into the rest of the bay area. after that point making for some wet conditions for your friday morning commute. but moving out fairly quickly. today's daytime highs will be in the 50's for most areas, although a couple
