this is going to be a progression of light showers that makes its way into the north bay as the sun goesvening with the bulk of that first wave of rain scooting quickly across the bay area through saturday evening and saturday night we get back into this off-and-on shower pattern. it's not going to be an all night and all day sunday washout, but intermittent showers will move across the bay area as the heart of the storm system treks directly overhead, a little breezy, especially along the coast, wind gusts in the 20 to 30-mile-an-hour range, well short of the wind advisory thresholds. this activity will continue into sunday night before we get a dry break monday and most of tuesday before the next rainmaker heads our way. we aren't talking about a lot of total rainfall here. we're looking at the totals amounting to maybe a quarter inch on the high end. this is one of the forecast models that's a little more optimistic in terms of total rainfall going through monday to add up any drops that might fall after midnight sunday night. we're talking about a 0.1-inch to maybe a couple tenths of

we stay dry for the daylight hours, but there are the first hours hitting the north bay coast as the way across the bay area from 7:00 tomorrow evening through 7:00 sunday morning. once the first band of showers moves out, we'll see more off-and-on showers moving across the bay area, but this intermittent pattern is what we'll see saturday night and throughout the day sunday. one more simulation, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. sunday shows the off-and-on shower activity continuing, not an all day washout, but there are going to be pockets of rain, locally heavy downpours that won't last long in any particular spot, but an unsettled day. in terms of how much rain we expect, this first one likely 0.1-inch to a 1/4 inch, but another wave of rain heads our way the middle of next week and add more rain on top of it. we're still talking a quarter to half inch for most of the bay area, closer to 1 inch of total rainfall for half moon bay, always more in the santa cruz mountains. this is the combination of both the saturday night and sunday rain and tuesday night and wednesday rain. these amoun

the first showers just hit the coast of the north bay as the sun goes down tomorrow evening. the first batch of rain moves quickly across the bay area west to east and is followed by scattered off-and-on showers continuing through saturday night and into early sunday. there are plenty of gaps in between these showers. it's not going to rain everywhere all the time. the showers will be out there. have an indoor alternative for any outdoor plans and be ready to dodge showers if you're trying to get out for the second half of the weekend. it will certainly impact our temperatures, upper 50s to maybe around 60 degrees even farther inland. there's another wave of rain that will head our way by tuesday night into wednesday of next week. when you add up both waves of rain together, the amounts are still modest. we're talking about a quarter inch on the low end to maybe a little over a half inch of rain in most locations, a bit more along the coast. some of the forecast models estimate close to an inch of rain. even in the north bay we're talking about less than 1 inch of total rainfa

. >> well, new at 730 tonight, a disturbing story coming out of the north bay.eacher at a school there booked in jail, accused of committing lewd acts with a student. officers with the santa rosa police department were informed yesterday that 34 year old gino zakariyah might be doing unlawful acts with a minor. zakariyah works as a science teacher at cesar chavez language academy in santa rosa. detectives say they gathered enough information to arrest zakariyah, who was booked into sonoma county jail on several charges, including lewd acts with a minor. santa rosa city schools releasing a statement on the incident today saying, quote, we are deeply saddened and troubled over these allegations. the situation has undoubtedly shaken our community, and we understand the range of emotions that students, parents and staff may be experiencing. we are committed to providing an environment where everyone feels secure and valued. the chp cited driving under the influence an unsafe speed as the causes of that crash that killed three young people in piedmont last november.
