north bay. napa almost 2 1/2 inches of rain. diablo east bay, four inches of rain. these are january sized rainfall totals coming down in just about 24 hours from berkeley to casper valleymbers are dropping off as you head into the central and south bay. right now, flood watches still in effect for the north pay. all of the counties of the north bay. santa cruz mountains under that too through mid-morning and localized flood advisories through central sonoma county where there's some standing water and ponding on the roads and through san mateo county along the coast. so we're finally beginning to catch a break with the rain moving away from san jose and we're getting a bit of clearing. don't plan on a lot of sunshine today. we will see a lot of moisture left over in the form of low clouds. showers starting to become less widespread, heading through the afternoon as the hour by hour outlook goes, while the widespread rain moves on, not a lot of clearing and from lunch time to mid afternoon, a few showers near the hills which may follow us into tonight. coming up, we'll let you know how much of the isolated showers can be part of your sunday forecast in about 15 minutes.

berkeley, just saw some storm clouds coming through there and that's about it. through hercules and crockett along i-80 there's a little bit of green showing up. and then the north bay. so the north bay is going to have the most rainfall from this storm and, yes, they are seeing it already. santa rosa, windsor, highway 101, rohnert park as well, petaluma, a lighter shower. some of it may not be hitting the ground at all. no measurable precipitation. but it is definitely moist up there in the cloud coverage. here's our mount vaca view. you can certainly see the dark storm clouds and yes, i want to talk about this flood watch. so they have now issued it for the north bay and the santa cruz mountains and the north bay coast central range, as well. look at the amount of rain expected, three to four inches for the north bay valleys. the mountains could get up to six. santa cruz mountains could see up to eight inches of rain. and that of course could lead to rock and mudslides, also debris flowing in the burn areas. and then some of the rivers and creeks are expected to rise, as well. now, here in san francisco, officials have set up temporary flood barriers in the mi

if i move over toward the east bay, oakland and berkeley down through san francisco, lighter in terms of the rain there. not as heavy as the north bay. and down in san jose also seeing lighter pockets of heavier rain and in sunnyvale, a couple there. and this is what our storm ranger is picking up right now. now if i fast forward this time line, this is what i want to do to stick around for. because this gives you a good idea of how to plan the day. get the alaba get t get t get the umbrella and the boots ready. santa rosa and napa and san rafael, the line of showers moving through where we could see moderate downpours so expect heavy rain in the north bay and the skr-- the santa cruz snunt mountains. and now palo alto and san jose could see the heavy downpours right around 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. so if you are driving and then it starts pouring, you know why and fast forwarding to 11:30, the line of stronger cells push off to the east but still behind this a couple of lingering showers for santa rosa and then the rain lets up a little bit right after your lunch hour but if i take this through 4:30 and through 6:30, we have some rain
