this is in the north carolina case. basically the securicourt says impossible to know where to draw the line, because state legislatures, invariably, whoever is in control of the majority party, is responsible to drawing the political boundaries, how do you know when that essential political process crosses a constitutional line. what the supreme court's majority says here, that's not a task for the court. by a 5-4 vote, the supreme court has turned down the partisan claim in north carolina. i would assignment by the same logic, thee make the sake decision. they ten republican districts, three democratic districts, one legislator involved in the process said why did you do that? and this republican said because we couldn't figure out a way to the fewer than three democratic districts. it was clearly a partisan attempt to limit power, and the supreme court said we'll stay out of that fight. this is the third or fourth time the supreme court has been asked to rule on partisan gerrymandering over the last couple decades an

district in north carolina.want you to talk about the poverty line in the u.s. because we have been reading about changes by the trump administration and what your reaction. can you explain, what is the poverty line and what does it mean? guest: the census bureau defines poverty and it generally is in a family of four, the poverty line $25,750, for a single individual, $12,490. in many government programs, they are based on the poverty line. free and reduced lunches for children at school, children's health insurance, so many of our federal programs are based on the poverty line and if you fall below the carpet line, you are entitled -- poverty line, you are entitled and if not, you are not eligible and president trump is determined to redefine the poverty line and he has put it out for comment and june 21 is the magic date comments need to be submitted regarding this proposal and after that the president has the authority to redefine poverty. that is alarming for low income families in this country and for many
