colorado. unexpected rain helped firefighters get the edge in containing the fire. >> manuel borjorquez is here the front lines northorter: good morning, anthony and venita. yesterday's rain helped bring containment of the fire to 30%, but the number of homes destroyed has also risen. it now stands at 473. right now more than 700 firefighters remain on the front lines battling the blaze which covers an area roughly 24 square miles. colorado springs firefighters released a video showing their efforts to save one home. efforts like this right up to the property line have helped to spare more than 2300 homes here. but two residents have died in the fire. officials say it appeared they were trying to evacuate right after the fire started. investigators have established a tip line for information on what caused the fire. they believe they know where it started but not how. now, today is expected to be mostly warm and dry. but the possibility of thunderstorms remains in the forecast. that could once again help firefighters provided the storms bring rain and not just wind and lightning. anthony and venita. >> possibly good
