north and east of san francisco today. how much rainfall came down? napa, six tenthsover an inch. santa rosa, half an inch. vacaville, concord, thunderstorms. right in the one neighborhood i checked, one-and-a-half inches of rainfall fell and all of that ice, west of highway 29 and napa today. so all the thunderstorms, the national weather service counted for us, 118 cloud to ground lightning strikes. that is rare in the bay area, but we got it today. we are not getting it tonight. the radar is clear because the low is moving out. look at this great picture. one of our photographs took this picture. look at the cumulonimbus cloud. look at that, a huge cloud that formed right over the top of the mountain. and this from cynthia in vallejo e-mailed this us to. a double rainbow around all of the activity today. so what the heck happened? a huge area of low pressure, we talked about it. didn't think it would get this close. it sat right over the top of fairfield. everything was rotating around fairfield for a time. a strong low, perfect time of day with the peak heating of the day. it gave us widespread thunderstorms. what happens tomorrow? low
