as the pittsburg bay point bart station is now open, and service between antioch and north concord has resumed. it comes after a long morning for bart following a deadly crash. an suv ended up obstructing both directions of the bart tracks. ali rasmus is live now with how workers from bart, the chp and other emergency responders. ali teamed up to get train service back. >> yeah, and it was restored by about 730 this morning. but this was a situation that began long before bart even opened and started service this morning. 3:45 a.m. is when this crash happened. the chp says two people driving too fast on eastbound highway four bailey road, lost control of their vehicle. their suv ended up smashing into and toppling over a concrete barrier through a chain link fence and landing on both directions of the bart tracks near the pittsburg bay point station. the chp says the man, a man and woman in the suv, were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. they were not wearing seat belts. the man was ejected from the vehicle and died. the extent of the woman's injuries isn't known, but she was ru

it's cold right now. 39 degrees even colder in the north bay. 34 in sonoma. concord. 36, fairfield.ow, 33 degrees. we have that frost advisory with us until 9 a.m. this morning. it is chilly. sunshine is to be found throughout the afternoon. it's exactly like yesterday with temperatures. it's mild, about 5 or 6 degrees above average into the 60s. we go. and then later on this evening, here comes our marine layer, coming back in from the coastline and surging around the bay shoreline. 40s and 50s by 8 p.m. so sunny skies after that. fresh and brisk start this morning. 61 in the city today, 67 in san jose, 62 in concord, up to 64 in santa rosa. overnight tonight. not only is it chilly once again, but you can see our marine layer is coming on back, so we'll likely track a little bit of fog first thing tomorrow morning before we see sunshine later on in the afternoon. all right. let's talk about any sort of storm potential. we talked about the drought monitor, the last hit. we're seeing that severe drought has expanded across southern california the next ten days. we're not finding much

daytime highs will be in the low 60s across the north bay, with napa at 60. also low 60s concordrmore, san jose, palo alto, 63, san francisco right here at 59. rainll chances get here once we hit friday morning, right around six seven and 8:00, it's going to develop. begin to move across the north bay down to right there in san francisco. parts of the east bay, mainly some light rain. we could get a few moderate to heavier pockets at times, and then this will scoot here throughout the east bay and south bay by 11:00 in the morning. and we'll be left with a little something here in the south bay by 1 p.m. this gets out of here as we head through friday night. rainfall totals trace amounts to about a quarter inch for most of us. although the north bay could get in on about a third of an inch on the 7-day forecast. you'll see. we'll dry it out as we head through this upcoming weekend and so far, dry monday, tuesday, and also wednesday. so a little bit of rain coming friday and then all good saturday and sunday. okay. thank you very much jeff. well up next access hollywood then comin

concord, 59. martinez low 60s in the north bay 56 right here in half moon bay under that sunshine. now all of that sunshine is going to start to exit as we head into the forecast later on this week. but here's the complicated setup we're dealing with right now is that atmospheric river will hit the west certainly a lock here across pacific northwest where it starts to get a little bit murky. a little bit fuzzy is the fact that we have this area of high pressure to the south. if this sets up exactly where we think it's going to be, it's going to be a tale of two different stories through california. so the northernn part, just outside of the bay area, would get slammed. and then just south of that. so for the bay area, we'd see drastically different totals. and then down here towards southern california, we'd be absolutely dry. so let's show that to you, and you'll see on the forecast here from friday into sunday. totals here up towards the north bay could range as high as just over two inches in guerneville again friday through sunday, quarter to half inch napa to mill valley. but

north bay. the coldest would be santa rosa 33, concord 35 down to morgan hill, 36 down in san jose 40.od city right here at 39. we'll have time to thaw out tomorrow, so to speak. here. we'll get into plenty of low and mid 60s out here across the bay area. now, i did want to get you into some big national headlines. if you're doing any traveling, watch out for this bitter cold, gripping a lot of the map, even some unusual snow. houston snow and new orleans chan of snow in pensacola. temperatures in the 30s right there in the panhandle of florida and orlando 58. we'll see that chance of snow exit as we head through wednesday, but it's still going to stay on the chilly side and real quickly here near houston, 1 to 5in new orleans 3 to 7. and around the panhandle of florida up to one inch. so weather delays likely to be more numerous in the southeast where they're not used to this kind of chill. back here in the bay area, 20% chance of a spotty shower on sunday. saturday. not the big storm we like, so we'll keep a close eye on that one. snow and more snow in new orleans. that's that's some

highest number north bay actually not doing too badly, but that wind certainly popping up in fairfield right now. temperatures pretty nice out there. 63 in san jose. 59 in san francisco, concordout 60 degrees and the north bay looking good here pennlive about 66 at this hour. so obviously we're supposed to be in the upper 50's. we're well above average. as far as the wind is concerned, it does have that offshore component to that is drying us out for sure, but were very fortunate. our fields are not in too bad of a shape right now. but notice as we get into our later afternoon and evening, we will start to see this pull back a little bit, even though that wind advisory does go until tomorrow morning. but by tomorrow morning, we're looking really good. so the blue skies from the east bay confirming that beautiful visibility. today there's that golden gate bridge. clear as a bell as we take a look here from the oakland hills. pretty nice temperatures over the next few days will be above average. now notice as we get to friday, we do start to pull back again. that's to average upper 50's if you forgot. and since it's been a while since we really see them. and the reason for that

it is now 47 degrees in concord and 40s across the north bay. i wanted to share with you how light the winds are at this hour, because they will remain under ten miles per hour all night long in the overnight hours. but as we forge ahead to this time tomorrow night, notice the north bay. the winds begin to increase up to 33mph, and throughout the calistoga area. and then by tuesday into tuesday night and wednesday, we are on the cutting edge of wind criteria. as far as advisories, watches or warnings are concerned. and that's because we have an offshore push and this weather pattern is actually churning up the ocean waters as well. we do have a beach hazard statement in effect tomorrow morning at 4 a.m. by the time you wake up all the way to tuesday night, we have waves up to 20ft that will be lapping on shore. so please be mindful of that and never turn your back to the ocean. look at this. fog is now moving into the gate. we'll talk about that and the warnings going up for southern california. that's coming up next time around. >> thanks, robe
