the north dakota public service commission gave the ok to build the pipeline through that state. this is the largest section of the proposed pipeline. the 1100 mile pipeline runs from north dakota to illinois running the iowa utilities board held public input hearings on the pipeline in november. the board plans to hold 4 days of hearings starting february 8 to decide whether to approve allowing the pipeline through iowa. the hearings will be held at 1375 east court avenue here in des moines. the hearings are scheduled to be open, but the board says it may close the meeting as allowed by iowa code. steve: it was veterans day at the iowa statehouse. 500 people crowded the rotanda to honor the state's veterans. the event also gives veterans a chance to meet with lawmakers about issues that are important to them. >> we have men and women from all branches of service that are serving in over 141 different countries around the world. as we said here today, remember that this is a force that is deep in nature. while we are carrying the home front with our legislature, we have men and w
