lake tahoe tonight for us. thank you. >> more say the latest map of the burn area from cal fire to demonstrate just where the fire is burning. it's growing to the north and to the east. it's kind of knocking on south lake tahoe store on the south side. but firefighters say they're not letting it reach the homes there, at least not yet. but you can see it did jump highway 50 down just south of myers and christmas valley. it is burning just south of the residential areas of south lake tahoe kind of toward the heavenly ski resort. but it hasn't got there yet and firefighters trying to keep it that way. here's an infrared heat map that gives you another visual to show you where the blaze is. most intense, the darker, the color, the hotter, the flames in there in the middle with all those little orange dots. that is the the the head of the fire. that's where it's going right now. the burn zone, though, has decreased in the middle of the fire with the heat in the flames. so it is still actively pushing to the northeast. but again, is still staying just south. and we're talking just a few 100 feet in some cases of residential areas of south lake tahoe. >> t
