north. thundershowers will likely remain in parts northeastern china throughout the day. heading over to the americas, we can see a cluster of clouds extending from ontarioown toward the texas panhandle. under the clouds we are seeing lots of active weather, lots thundershowers are occurring. we have reports of hail, the size of a ping-pong ball in kansas and gusty winds in the western corner of the great lakes region. the heaviest rain is coming down in and around minnesota. because rain has been falling over the past few days, lots of floods have been reported here. it looks like rain will move out of this region in the next 24 hours. that's definitely good news. ahead of the system, hot conditions are continuing. we have some footage coming out of new york city. this is taken on wednesday. the high hit 33 degrees. that's about 6 degrees above average for this time of year. people are enjoying playing in the water and basking in the sun. the record high for june in manhattan's central park is about 38 degrees. it hit the mark back in 196 and 1934. the peak of the heavy heat will be on thursday. look at this, getting up to 37 degrees in new york city. w

ontario, canada. for us we're seeing the heavier showers in pennsylvania. we've seen some showers push through generally north of us although west of town we still have light showers. the heaviest stuff from baltimore to the eastern shore. light showers scattered about along and west of route 15 and up toward northern loudoun county, frederick and i-81. it's muggy start. what about the commute this morning? i'll toss it over to monika samtani and let you know what you can expect. >>> we have quite a few issues. the list is growing with the wet road conditions. first of all i just got word of an accident on the northbound side of 295 at the 11th street bridge. some good news on the southbound side of the gw parkway for over an hour. park police have been dealing with a fallen tree at the exit for the c.i.a. building and they've been telling us it's been cleared up. also an accident southbound on the bw parkway right after route 202. that's going to affect your drive if you're trying to get into the northeast corridor. if you're planning to head over here on the beltway at oxon hill, all the southern maryland c
