we have made our way to north raleigh, we have been trying to get here all morning. we kept getting sidetracked by all of these intersections that were closed with downed trees and downed power lines. we are at six forks road we just passed 40, and as you can see, these roads are just a thick sheet of ice, and then there are the -- and then there is this layer of snow on top of it. that is deceiving because you may think snow is easy to drive in, but right underneath this is a thick layer of ice. we decided a few minutes ago, a couple of cars off the road about three-four cars off of the road, they had come out, thumbs -- the sun's up, looks great, and they spun out. we do want to mention, because we have gotten a lot of calls, text, facebook notes from people that we are going well under the posted speed limit. our camera, on the car, the go pro, in addition to my ipad has a very wide angle, and it makes it look like we are going fast. right now, we are going 25 miles per hour. so, most of the time, and the secondary roads we are between 20-25 and then on the beltli

let's take a look at this tower camera in north raleigh looking towards the east. the sky is lighting up beautiful colors this morning ahead of sunrise, which is about 7:17 this morning. lots of blue sky and clear sky out there right now, and we will see clear skies sticking with us throughout the entire day today. nothing popping up on satellite and radar. 38 degrees in lewisburg and henderson and we have this big area of high pressure sitting off to the east today bringing up this really warm air out of the south here so we can expect another warm and sunny day around the area with temperatures today about 10 degrees warmer than we actually were yesterday. so we're talking high temperatures well into the 60s. after a cool start to the morning, the sunshine will warm us up quickly looking at 59 degrees at lunchtime, 66 our high temperatures, by about 3:00 this afternoon, skies stay about 60 degrees by 6 p.m. high wells into the 60s today. tomorrow, we are going to be talking about temperatures getting pretty close to 70. i'll be back with the complete update on yo
