on friday some of the north bay communities saw this rain. richmond, an inch and a quarter. even mill valley just near that. orinda an inch. downtown san francisco about three-quarters of an inch. and in san jose even though it was pouring all day yesterday just about a quarter of an inch fell officially. yes, we got some much-needed rain but the unfortunate thing, it didn't do much in san jose for that all important water year. since july 1st we've only picked up about five inches of rain of the last week our deficit was 9 inches so we are shrinking that deficit slowly but surely but still have 8 inches to go before july 1st. we don't have a whole lot of rain but a few isolated showers. again, this is what we're looking at through the day today. mostly if you're in the westward facing foot hills, that's where you'll see the best chance for showers today. otherwise i think we'll find a good mix of sun and clouds through most of the day. if we do see a shower i think it will be very brief. you can see our sunrise in san francisco really gorgeous this morning. by this afternoo
