we have a bus crash north of richmond this morning. at least four people are hurt. parts of i-95 are closed. it is also snowing heavily in atlantic city, new jersey. wyatt andrews is in washington, d.c. where the severe weather is leading the government to close offices yet again. wyatt, good morning. >> reporter: charlie and nora, good morning. well, later on this week, d.c. will feel like los angeles, with temperatures slated to be in the 60s by thursday. but right now in d.c., it is 30 degrees. there's about 5 to 6 inches of snow on the ground. and for the fourth time this season, a winter storm has shut down the federal government. the biggest problem came out in the suburbs surrounding washington, where 7 to 10 inches fell overnight, but another 1 to 2 inches in the forecast. that created a travel hazard for the tens of thousands of federal workers who commute into the district every day, and so the decision was made for this one-day shutdown. as for the d.c. area airports, they are technically open and are functioning. but the airlines tell us this morning tha

on friday some of the north bay communities saw this rain. richmond, an inch and a quarter. even mill valley just near that. orinda an inch. downtown san francisco about three-quarters of an inch. and in san jose even though it was pouring all day yesterday just about a quarter of an inch fell officially. yes, we got some much-needed rain but the unfortunate thing, it didn't do much in san jose for that all important water year. since july 1st we've only picked up about five inches of rain of the last week our deficit was 9 inches so we are shrinking that deficit slowly but surely but still have 8 inches to go before july 1st. we don't have a whole lot of rain but a few isolated showers. again, this is what we're looking at through the day today. mostly if you're in the westward facing foot hills, that's where you'll see the best chance for showers today. otherwise i think we'll find a good mix of sun and clouds through most of the day. if we do see a shower i think it will be very brief. you can see our sunrise in san francisco really gorgeous this morning. by this afternoo
